Blues to miss out on reported midfield target

The Liverpool Echo have been reporting in recent days that Steve Walsh and Ronald Koeman had identified the 25-year-old as a key target for January and had signalled their intent to surpass Bremen's offer in a bid to land him.

That appears unlikely, with the Danish international expected to complete a £1.5m move to the Bundesliga club when the window opens in less than five weeks' time.
