Gabbiadini was close to making a £23m switch to Goodison Park in the summer before the move collapsed but there is plenty of speculation in Italy that Everton want to revive negotiations for the coming transfer window.

Napoli's former executive director, Pierpaolo Marino, told Rai Sport: “Everton, yes, they returned, I think the future of Gabbiadini is abroad.”

Mondo Deportivo and Calciomercato.it claim that the Blues have lodged a £14m bid for the 24-year-old but that the Serie A club have knocked it back because they want £20m.

West Ham and Valencia are also credited with interest in Gabbiadini who has been struggling to get into Napoli's team this season.
