£40m double bid mooted as Schneiderlin is told he can leave Old Trafford

Acknowledging that the player isn't getting any game time under him at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho says that he won't stand in Morgan Schneiderlin's way if Manchester United accept a bid for him in the coming transfer window.

The French international's situation at United, coupled with Everton's need for a long-term replacement for Gareth Barry — not to mention the fact that Ronald Koeman is his former manager — means that Schneiderlin has been linked with a switch to Goodison Park for weeks now.

Now, a double swoop worth £40m by the Blues for Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay is being reported, although they face competition from West Bromwich Albion for Schneiderlin, however, who Tony Pulis confirms have lodged an official bid, believed to be in the region of £13m.
