Arouna Kone is being linked with a clutch of clubs this month, with Swansea City and Crystal Palace among his potential suitors.

The 33-year-old, a £6m acquisition by Roberto Martinez from his former club, Wigan, in 2013 is out of contract at the end of this season and could leave Everton for free then.

Interested clubs are weighing up a move for him before the January transfer deadline, however, hoping to sign him for a nominal fee and help add another option to their front line for the remainder of the season.

QPR and Wolves are also credited with interest in the striker who has yet to start a game this season but who bagged a brace in the League Cup against Yeovil in August.

The West London side were said to be close an agreement recently but baulked at Kone's wage demands.
