'The truth' behind the failed Belfodil deal

According to the story recounted by Sport Witness, the deal was ready to go at the start of January but a combination of Standard Liege's desire to eke €2m out of the deal and the insertion into the negotiations of renowned agent Christophe Henrotay delayed the negotiations long enough for Ronald Koeman to have second thoughts.
