Everton won't over-pay for Pickford

| Wednesday, 31 May 2017  0 Comment  [Jump to last]
Everton are reported to have had one offer for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford knocked back but are unwilling to meet Sunderland's astronomical valuation.

The Liverpool Echo claim that the Blues have already submitted one bid of £8m for the 23-year-old but the relegated Black Cats are asking for as much as £30m.

Everton are believed to be keen on Pickford but that's a price tag that they won't meet and, if true, will almost certainly mean they will move on to other targets.

Neither Maarten Stekelenburg, who turns 35 later this year, nor Joel Robles are thought to be considered by Ronald Koeman as ideal first-choice stoppers for next season and a new goalkeeper is therefore among the priorities for the forthcoming transfer window.
