Everton have unveiled the 2018-19 home strip, replete with Umbro diamonds on the sleeve and a new marl effect.

The club made the revelation today with a marketing campaign entitled Go On which "celebrates the Club, its fans and the dynamic City of Liverpool.

The new kit, which is rounded out by white shorts and white socks with blue turnovers, is available to pre-order now and will be on sale from Saturday 5th May 2018 from EvertonDirect.com.

It will also be worn for the first time by the players on Saturday when the Blues face Southampton at Goodison Park.

I like it. Better than this year's effort. I told the missus I wouldn't be giving them a penny till we showed some ambition but I'm tempted by this.

Remove the Umbo, Angry Birds and Sportpesa logos and it would look great.

I preferred last season's, then this season's, then next season's in that order. Not that I have any intention of buying one anyway. I mean, what sane human being would walk around with Angry Birds written on their sleeve, let alone Sport Peas on their tit?

I like it; best in sometime.

Not impressed. From this seasons 1 out of 5 I'll say its a small improvement 2/5.
I don't know how they do it but their experts at cheap and tacky.

If they can't afford to imbed a subtle print or picture then please just keep it plain blue.
Enough of the patched up nonsense, (leave that for the first team.. couldn't resist).

The 3rd kits have been my favourite kits for the last 5 years or so and I'm hoping that trend continues. Loved the dark green and this years purple striped tops.

Away kit should be white or black and experiment with 3rd kit. Winners so far. But please no Russian retro monstrosities.

As Shankly used to say his team of red twats looked like giants in all red and it did seem to have an imposing effect on lots of the opposition. Still does today on Everton.

Conversely, I have always thought that the Toffees look like a team of pygmies with the white shorts and white socks. Not so imposing, more weak and puny looking.

Lawrence Green

I don't think the Everton team circa 1962 - 1970 looked like pygmies, nor did the vintage 1980s team, and certainly not Joe Royle's dogs of war. What are we to do, change our colours and name so that it matches up to the neighbours. I despair I honestly do.

The shirt is very like the club. Confused, dated, and without style.

A while since I’ve bought one, or any merchandise from Everton. The lack of commercial acumen is appalling.

They have ranges which are staid and are always on sale come seasons end. They have learned nothing from better organizations.

Tie this into a season ticket plan with no flexibility how many new match goers have there been in the last decade?

New match goers far more likely to purchase than STHs who are fed up with a club that gives us little succor.

The kit and clothing range needs to be short lived and dynamic, it creates scarcity and a unique feel.

In stead we have blue hoards in nearly identical blue jerseys trudging down Goodison road.

Just another part of the club failing to deliver.

Lenny > each player makes it a weakness or a strenghts. It's subjective. For me it's an unstoppable blue wave. COYB. I love the new kit.

That’s a class shirt no issue with the design, colour or anything, my only wish is they offer fans the opportunity to buy without that stupid Angry Birds sleeve logo which is overbearing, too big and just so bloody unnecessary!

I like the kit. Its a little bit Souness era Rangers, but I like it. Should be great in long sleeves.

I also dislike white shorts & pure white socks. I much prefer it when we go with dark socks, preferably of the blue/black variety which was originally from the 1920's/30's, I think.

Agree about Everton moving to all blue.

I know it upsets traditionalists but I also prefer Everton in all blue, looks more imposing and intimidating.

And under no circumstances should yellow be anywhere near the home kit.

Have just received the confirmation from Everton after emailing customer services, the Angry Birds logo will be on all new shirts as they are delivered from the supplier with the logo already applied.

I guess we just have to get used to wearing Angry Birds, it’s not exactly attractive but it’s otherwise a really really smart new shirt .

Dave Williams
16 Posted 30/04/2018 at 16:55:50
Agree with Jim about angry birds logo- far too prominent.
Classy kit though- best in many years. I too would prefer all blue- much smarter than plain white but please no black striped sicks!
Just shows it's all about personal preference!!

Yeah, let's move to all blue and look like the shower from Stamford Bridge or Leicester. Blue shirts white shorts. That is our strip. Leave it alone.
All blue my arse. Let's have all red as a second strip,eh? Let's copy the other shower. I despair.

As long as it doesnt have a white chest plate with NEC on it then it is OK with me

Won't be buying this one. The umbro logo is really naff. A throw back to the 70s. Why do other clubs seem always to have stylish shirts? Well done Everton...

I don't like the shorts not having a stripe down the side.

Disagree re all blue kit, it's worn far too commonly by other clubs. If there is a good reason for switching from white shorts then I'd prefer to switch to black rather than blue.

Joe McMahon
22 Posted 30/04/2018 at 17:27:23
I like the look of it, but in the grand scheme of things it's not that important. I'm more concerned about the awful unbalanced squad, a defence older than Stonehenge, still being in a dog pit of a stadium and Kenwright, Walsh, Ferguson and Big Sam still being there.

Ha – you probably gather it's a Monday!

If the club are going a bit retro with the diamond's then they should of replicated the 70's design but with a smaller collar,still...it's better than this season's.

Luv it. About time we got a decent shirt. Even green shoots of recovery with team. Onwards and upwards I say.
Peter Gorman
28 Posted 30/04/2018 at 18:26:46
Gopping collar - like something an Essex wideboy would wear.

But it is blue and has a badge. All I care is that some people will bother to play for it.

Eddie Dunn
29 Posted 30/04/2018 at 18:37:25
A shirt designed by a focus group? The silly collar might just be okay for one of the players, but anyone over the age of 40 will look a right tool.

Just watched the Everton TV promo video on Sky Sports News for the new kit.

I have a horrible feeling that somebody has fucked up badly.
Unless I am going senile the short black and white 1960’s section outside the ground showing a black cab going from left to right across the screen is one of Anfield. Kemlyn Road/Kop corner.

I rewound it and froze it to check it. I am sure we vacated those premises in 1892 .

I think someone senior at our club needs to look at this and if I’m correct, arses need kicking.

I’m in my 60’s so am very familiar with how both the grounds used to look then.

I haven't bought a shirt years as I disagree with releasing a new one every fucking season!! They should go back to using each kit for two seasons.

Having said that, I do like this one and would be tempted to buy if it didn't have that ridiculous sleeve sponsor!

Ste McCoombe
32 Posted 30/04/2018 at 18:53:49
The kit is vile. Looks cheap and what’s with the overly fussy collar. I can’t temember the last time Umbro made us a decent kit. For me the puma one with the Keijan sponsor was the best one in years. When’s the away kit out

I think you're spot on, however, I don't think it's a huge cock-up given the theme of the video e.g "Go on Everton" or "Everton Go on" so it's a gentle reminder that the location you mention was our home ground once upon a time - or you may be right and they've included that footage inadvertently.

Ray- liking all blue is nothing to do with the other lot but is a personal preference- ok?

Awful collar. The band of Umbro logos looks tacky as fuck.

A solid 1/5 effort.

I'm all for the Angry Birds logo. It is pulling my 5-year-old toward Everton and away from Newcastle! I like the kit a lot more than this year’s.
Nigel Munford

With regard to ‘Angry Birds' it could have been a lot worse, for instance it could have been ‘Durex'.

A football kit is basically a coloured T-shirt and shorts. It is not meant to be a fashion statement. It's work clothes for footballers. As long as it's the proper colour and has the badge on it who cares? It's not your Sunday best and nobody is going to meet the queen wearing it. I'm sure you lot just complain for the sake of it.
Jeff Spiers
40 Posted 30/04/2018 at 20:46:58
Diamonds should be down sleeve arms. Agree kit should be every 2 to 3 years
Paul McCoy
42 Posted 30/04/2018 at 21:41:52
Frank (39) - A football kit is more than just "work clothes for footballers". It's something that fans buy to show their allegiance to the club, to identify themselves as Evertonians. It's a lucrative revenue stream for the club (or should be...) and therefore needs be something that supporters want to wear.
Ian Hollingworth

Now let’s get a decent team to play in the new kit

Yes Dave, and my personal preference is steering clear of anything that that shower and Shanks thought a great idea.

Much better than this year's abomination but that counts for very little, only a pink one would be worse. Nothing special really but not painful to watch. Sportpesa logo is really unattractive though.
Steve Ferns
47 Posted 30/04/2018 at 22:38:38
I'm not sure about the kit. In the video, from afar looks good. Close up, I'm not sure about that Marl finish, and I definitely don't like the collar. I'd also prefer blue socks.

But, they could go out in pink stripes for all I care, we need to get things sorted on the pitch and in the dugout. It's one hell of a contrast to how I felt this time last year.

If we really do have a marketing department that sees fit to include film of Anfield in our kit promo vid I despair. That means that under Kenwright we not only have a fellow director with no apparent knowledge of who Neville Southall is, we now have a marketing department with even less knowledge that that.

Moshiri must surely ask himself whether having a chairman with no idea of Everton's long and illustrious history, but with the energy and know-how to get things right, would be such a bad idea.

Ace. Mint. Stylish. Modern with a throwback nostalgia feeling.

I'm buying one.

Ugly, again. We have rarely put out a decent shirt. I haven’t bought one in years and I won’t be going near this one.
Jack Convery
53 Posted 01/05/2018 at 06:24:40
More Poundland than Harrods - bloody typical. Also Rooneys Motto needs to be removed from the shirt sleeves. Thank god its Sport Pesa - wouldn't be surprised to see Durex at some point in the future - after all its the players favourite line - We must bounce Back. and FS favourite type of football - Sterile. COYBs - the pun was meant !

I don't like the buttons and collar and the sleeves. Its a style disaster.

As for Angry Birds, that will bring the kids in. Creating a new generation of Everton fans is a good thing. Buy em for yer kids cos they'll wear them. We adults probably won't.

John Smith

That last one I liked was the one from last year and the 2013 one, the one before the white on the sleeves.

The kits ok. I’m hoping that the club will be looking to use Adidas, Puma, Nike etc if they are serious about moving on.

The quality of these Umbro kits is poor an£ compared to others they aren’t built to last more than a couple of games. I picked my lad up from a practice game last season, and basically the bottom half of his shirt had unravelled. That’s the 2nd time that ps happened. The staff in the club shop even say they are poorly made..no doubt he’ll be egging me on for the new shirt though.

He’s still got his other Bayern, Real kits and aside from the normal wear and tear they are still good to wear. It’s the difference between buying a decent cotton shirt and a cheap synthetic shirt.

That’s my view and I hope the club does change kit supplier but there’s far bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Go On & Get Mugged again but remember to save some of your pocket money for the new second strip. I'm more interested in the players who wear the shirt than what it looks like.

On the Angry Birds Logo.

My 9-year-old son has very little interest in football but when he saw this season's shirt with Angry Birds on the sleeve he wanted one. He didn't take it off for days when it arrived and now he probably is an Everton fan for life.

Don, #50, it certainly would. Historically fans make the worst chairmen, Swales, Ellis, Ridsdale and even David Moores. Kenwright falls into this category. We need a young, dynamic chairman who is a tough businessman. Kenwright famously said “I don’t know a thing about business”. It was just a hobby to him. In reality it is a ruthless, cutthroat business. No wonder he got fleeced by Levy and said he would never deal with him again.

The TOFFS website still sells the best Blues shirts there is.

The 1970s shirt...Home.
The '72-75 shirt...Away.
The '58-60 shirt...Third shirt.

All the above should be our new shirts for next season & for me would be NEVER changed,as new kits every season just rip-off fans.

Same comments year on year – after about half an hour of the first game nobody gives a shit what the shirt looks like anyway.

I haven't bought a shirt for over 20 years anyway – let the players wear them, not the supporters.

The club shop is selling the "1980" shirt for forty notes, the last truly iconic club shirt from Umbro we had.

No long sleeve version though...typical Everton...sigh.
