Everton will head into the 2020-21 season with high hopes of challenging for a top-four place in the Premier League.

The Toffees are set to have a much-changed line-up, with manager Carlo Ancelotti expected to be busy during the next transfer window.

The Italian has insisted that Champions League qualification is feasible if Everton can add some extra quality to their squad.

Read on as we look at four of the players who are currently being linked with a summer move to Goodison Park.

Gabriel — Lille

Everton's odds with olybet to finish in the top four next term would undoubtedly be cut if Ancelotti can improve his defensive options.

Gabriel has been strongly linked with the club after his impressive performances for Lille in France this season.

A fee in the region of £30 million is expected to be enough to secure Gabriel's services and he would slot in nicely alongside Mason Holgate.

With both Michael Keane and Yerry Mina failing to inspire much confidence, it is easy to see why Ancelotti wants to shake things up at the back.

Allan — Napoli

Central midfield is another area in need of a boost and Napoli's Allan appears to fit the bill having successfully worked with Ancelotti before.

The club are believed to already be in talks with Allan's agent and have offered a contract up to the summer of 2025.

The Brazilian was hit with a massive fine by Napoli for his part in a row with club bosses back in November and he has been in and out of the team since then.

Allan's playing style would be ideally suited to the Premier League and he would be a significant upgrade on the club's current midfielders.

James Rodriguez — Real Madrid

Rodriguez's unhappy time in Madrid should finally come to an end this summer and Everton are in the running to sign the Colombian.

The 28-year-old has started just four La Liga games this season after returning to the club from a two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich last summer.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane clearly doesn't fancy Rodriguez and a move to Everton could be just what he needs to reignite his career.

Rodriguez played well under Ancelotti during his time in charge at the Bernabeu Stadium and a summer reunion would work well for all concerned.

Ciro Immobile — Lazio

The emergence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been a big boost for Everton, but the club are still in the market for another forward.

Lazio's Ciro Immobile is believed to be Ancelotti's number one target, although the £43.5 million price tag could be a stumbling block.

The Toffees may offer Moise Kean in part-exchange for the 30-year-old, with the youngster failing to settle into life in the Premier League.

Immobile has scored 30 goals in 33 appearances this season and is the type of player who could take Everton to the next level.
