Not that it matters, we could play them 15 minutes after they finish and we'd still find a way to f*** it up.

What's our record like on a Monday night? I think it's pretty good off the top of my head.

I recall the last Anfield derby win was a Monday night.

We get 8 days rest before the derby so I don't see what some are cryarseing about.

Going on about rest, we have 2 matches between now and March 1st, pathetic that!

I'm hoping for a re run of the Wayne Clarke derby. If I recall correctly the RS needed to win that to beat the unbeaten record held by a Leeds team featuring Wayne's brother Allan. But despite indifferent form at the time we beat them and popped that balloon.

I know there are still a lot of variables but does anyone know what is the likelihood of them being crowned champions on the night if they beat us ?

Jay (9) I did the calculation earlier in the week. If they win all their games and in the meantime City drop six points they will win the title at Goodison if they beat us. As Peter says, let's just beat them!

Not that ridiculous. Because of the so-called winter break and because we couldn't beat Liverpool U23s in the FA Cup.

Mind you, if Man Utd somehow manage to reach the League Cup Final, our game om March 1st will be off.

It is outrageous that the derby has been moved to a Monday night for TV purposes. I'm well aware that TV has the power to pick and choose fixtures but, in my opinion, as a season ticket holder, it would have been so much better, as a live spectacle, in its original slot on a Saturday afternoon. I like Goodison under the lights but I'm less keen on travelling home afterwards in winter.

As recently proved, Liverpool could play Atletico and put their reserves out against us at the same kick-off time and win both games.

John @12, thanks, mate. The problem as we all know is that we won't just beat them, especially if they need a win to clinch the title at our place.

Let's not kid ourselves, we couldn't beat their reserves last time out, so what are the chances of us winning when it really matters to them?

John @12, so Man City cannot afford to drop 6 points before our derby? Well, they have Spurs away, Man Utd and Leicester away, with West Ham, Arsenal and Burnley at home,

I cannot see our neighbours dropping many points so it could be our worst nightmare, or we could delay it and also smash their invincible tag,

I think the derby in a night-match in the cold might suit us more. Our fans tend to be louder for such games, particularly with plenty of time to be well, for want of a better phrase, "lubricated".

I expect an atmosphere of defiance as we roar our boys into every tackle and give them all our energy.

At some point, Klopp is going to start to concentrate on the Champions League. He has that luxury, with the title all but won. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if he again sent out a slightly weakened side to play us, coming off the back of the second leg of the Atletico game. Fatigue will catch up with them at some point.
