Updated Everton were reported to have lodged another bid for Wilfried Zaha according to Sky Sports, offering £55m plus James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun, but the story was strongly denied by Everton, who say the matter is finished.

The Blues had one cash bid of between £52m and £55m knocked back by Crystal Palace who were thought to be holding out for £60m

Both McCarthy and Tosun have been linked with the South Londoners in recent months.

However, in a rare move from the normally tight-lipped club, this was strongly denied:

“Everton Football Club categorically denies that a bid has been submitted to Crystal Palace for Wilfried Zaha that included an increased sum plus Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy,” a statement from the club read.

“Everton and Crystal Palace have a very good relationship. A bid was made over the weekend which was turned down. Both clubs agreed that was the end of the matter.”
