Carabao Cup — Round 1
By Michael Kenrick 10/08/2022
Round 1 of the Caraboa Cup wraps up this evening with a televised game that potentially provides an opportunity for Everton fans to see one of their younger up-and-coming strikers in action.
Sunderland are at Sheffield Wednesday and Ellis SImms is likely to be involved for the Black Cats after completing a season-long loan deal last month, although he starts the game on the bench.
The game is on Sky Sports with the kick-off at 7:45 pm BST.
The game will be followed by the draw for Round 2 of the competition, which sees Everton and 12 other Premier League teams who are no in Europe learn who their opponents will be.

And Dennis Adeniran digs out a fantastic cross on the run for his buddy to score a second for The Owls.
Meanwhile, 75 minutes gone, Sunderland 2-0 down, and their manager finally thinks about making subs... or not.

Former Everton Academy winger Dennis Adeniran was MotM for Sheffield Wednesday in their 2-0 win over Sunderland today.
He scored the first with a left foot rocket into the top corner from outside the box and he had the assist for the second with a long right foot cross from the touchline to the far post.

Very good, Mike, he was highly thought of when we got him from Fulham but I think he's about found his level. Good luck to the lad.

Mike,
I always liked Dennis Adeniran for our U23s, alongside Beni.
Baningame was / is a great workhorse, seen as not quite up to it for us.
