Everton U21s kick off with a win
Everton U21s 2 - 0 Blackburn Rovers U21s
Everton’s revamped Under-21s kicked off the new season in
Southport on Friday evening, running out winners over their Lancashire
neighbours with goals either side of half-time.
Everton used the first-half as match practice for club
captain Seamus Coleman who is decidedly Over-31!
The first goal came on 42 minutes when Quirk picked out
Cannon with a superb through pass and the striker kept his composure to round
the keeper and slot the ball into the net.
Shortly after the restart, Sean McAllister cut inside from the left to curl a lovely finish past the keeper for Everton‘s second goal.
Everton U21s: Leban, Coleman (46’ John), Hunt, Welch, Campbell (46’ Anderson), Butterfield, Quirk (73’ Kouyate), Price, Cannon, Whitaker (86’ Okoronkwo), McAllister. Â
