Kevin Nicholson, who was appointed to the new post of Coach Educator at Finch Farm in April, to much fanfare,  has already decided to leave the club.

In a statement on Twitter, Nicholson wrote:

Great to have had the opportunity to contribute to the Coach Education at Everton Football Club. Have learned so much working with people at Finch Farm, across the club and academy. Looking ahead, have been fortunate enough to have been offered a leading football role for an international organisation. This is an opportunity that I have decided to take. Look forward to working with the coaches, academy directors and technical directors across the world.

The boyhood Evertonian was a junior player at Derby County and was the youngster ever Englishman to hold the Uefa Pro Licence after qualifying aged 29. Having worked with Bangor City, Cardiff City, Derby County and Exeter City his move to Finch Farm was hailed as a triumph following the departure of Marcel Brands and the strategic realignment implemented therefter.

Was it more cash or better people to learn off?

Considering he is supposed to be of a higher standard to start with, what's he still got to learn?
