Everton opened the pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night. The Toffees take on Blackburn Rovers this weekend before jetting off to the United States for the Premier League’s Summer Series. The upcoming campaign will be the club’s first at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, while there has also been plenty of change off the pitch. A wealth of departures among senior names means several new signings are expected before the transfer window’s closure on September 1st. So far this summer, Everton have added Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry and Mark Travers to the first-team squad. With a new ownership, new stadium, and fresh faces inside the dressing room, Keane - who signed a new short-term contract to extend his time with the Blues this summer - believes Everton are heading in an exciting direction. “It’s going to be exciting times,” Keane said to Sky Sports. “We’re going to have a few new faces, a lot’s changed this summer within the club. But I think the club’s only going in one direction. “I think it’s important we try and get the new lads to settle in as soon as possible. Get everyone to know each other and the way we want to play and, hopefully, we can have a strong season. Neil Cremin 2 Posted 17/07/2025 at 20:59:48 A little bit negative start to thread Robert.I prefer a more positive contribution in that I think its good business. We need central defence cover and fills that role at reduced terms which he has accepted We need our transfer kitty for more crucial positions such as right back, right wing and box to box creative midfielder Add Your Comments In order to post a comment, you need to be logged in as a registered user of the site. » Log in now Or Sign up as a ToffeeWeb Member — it's free, takes just a few minutes and will allow you to post your comments on articles and Talking Points submissions across the site.
