The server does seem to go through sluggish phases, Martin.
If I knew more about Google Analytics, I might be able to figure out what is happening.
But shockingly, we don't seem to have any technical support from the new owners at weekends!
Maybe I'll ask my new friend, Gemini...

I was gutted about the derby and ToffeeWeb failing. But I appreciate you have your work cut out and put in so much time.
I live in Spain. Don't know if that's a factor. How can a football site not have support at a weekend that's just nuts... can we storm their cloud?

Sorry, I never did get to see your derby match report. Not that you could do much to reverse the negative vibes that resulted. You should be able to just post it as any article submission.
I emailed you but it bounced back.

If there really was this 'Big Club' conspiracy that we hear of so often, surely the VAR man could have pressed his 'pass' button just one or two frames later and the semi-automated offside call would have ruled out Brentford's first goal?

Every free-kick conceded by Man Utd is contested by Fernandes.
Deserved yellow card finally flashed in his rat-looking face, either for the foul committed by him, or for one protest too many.

I detest VAR on general principle, but in terms of it's impact or bias, surely there are stats already out there to show if it favours the Big Six?
I've just had a quick look, and no discernible bias. But the stats are difficult to tabulate, for instance if Liverpool get their fifth goal disallowed unfairly, that's hardly the same as us having a last-minute winner chalked off. I'm not sure how they weigh the significance of the individual interventions.

Brentford are shaping up okay, Sunderland and Leeds already have points on board and look like they could gather the same throughout the course of the season.
West Ham will improve under Nuno. Interesting season this one, I think, and I don't expect to see the 3 promoted teams go back down. I think there is room for a giant to fall this season so it's imperative that we look after ourselves... starting with a win on Monday night!

Jenny's lad scores their 3rd.
If that wasn't a goalscoring oppo and a red then there must be no more reds forever, or VAR have plummeted the depths of useless even further.

Just been watching a Claret and Booze video on the appointment of Nuno, and there is not one fan who is happy with the appointment.
It will be low block all game under Nuno as far as they're concerned, basically the same as with Forest but with a far worse team. It will be like watching a Dyche team.
So as for Monday, just expect West Ham to park the bus and try and dig out a 0-0 draw.

Watching the Palace game on a bad stream because I thought they had a chance today. Had to turn it off because the commentators were worse than my stream. Went to BBC to check it was still 1-0.
No pic of Sarr. Just the headline Liverpool trail to Palace. Did they not mean Palace in front against Liverpool? It's unbearable to watch a game they play even when they're losing.

We won't change managers unless it starts to look like we're in relegation trouble. It's much too early for that - although it is looking like it will be a very competitive season (as Jim says, only Burnley and Wolves look weak). We're 11th. Which is about where we'll probably finish (most people predicted between about 8th and 14th over summer).
West Ham were always going to sack Potter. He is lucky to have been associated with Brighton - since their excellent club management (and recruitment) made him look a lot better than he is. Hurzeler might be in that category too. He's got a lot to prove. Nuno Espirito Santos is a good fit for West Ham - and not unlike Moyes in many respects. They will be fine now.
As others are saying, Iraola and Glasner are both good managers - especially overcoming big sales this summer. Impressive start for both after losing key players. However, it is very early days and we could still finish above both clubs.
Would they come to Everton?
Probably not Iraola. He must be in with a shout of the Man Utd job when Amorim is sacked (which must be soon now). And if it's not Man Utd - he'd have other options.
Glasner seems more realistic.
But the real thing that will make the difference is further spending. Everyone can see that the squad still has glaring issues with it. We didn't / couldn't spend a lot on the rebuild this summer and it was always obvious it would take 2 or 3 windows with TFG to fix the very serious damage done by Moshiri.
I am sure this is obvious to TFG too.
So going to the disruption and cost of sacking a manager who seems to be performing broadly as expected - and to then replace him with a manager who is unlikely to perform materially better would seem a very unlikely move.

So contentious.
Salah had his arm right up in the air. Imo he handled it causing its flight to vary slightly, thus causing the poor header by the palace player which allowed Chiesa to get to it to score. The Palace back post lad should have done better.

I remember a year ago when some wanted Glasner sacked, Kunal.
A sign of a well run club is when it doesn't panic and also when it keeps selling its best players and then keeps performing well on the pitch; that's a club I would like to support.
Contrast that with us: It takes us the obligatory 3 years to recover from losing a key player, with every excuse under the sun being spewed out.
Palace stuck two fingers up to Liverpool on deadline day over Guehi, and they've done it again today, great stuff.

Just thinking about Glasner, Iraola, Nuno, and even Slot. Our history in the Premier League has been Kendall, Walker, Royle, Kendall, Smith, Moyes, Martinez from Wigan, Koeman from Southampton, Marco Silva from Watford,
Ancelotti, Lampard, Dyche, Moyes.
If we exclude the well known Carlo, are we the only club in the Premier League to have never plucked a foreign manager from a European League and made him our manager but have always played it safe?

Decent day of football. We all got to be entertained. A few mentions. I'm enjoying the Wolves v Tottenham match. Wolves not shy going forward and will mix it. Tottenham good, but for all their riches, must frustrate their supporters.

Two weeks in a row now on motd, the Ozempic Queen whitewashes her beloved rs misdemeanours.
Last week it was the foul on Ndiaye, which wasnt given and led to their goal. And last night the Salah handball which was totally ignored and not even raised as a talking point.
We were promised a threeseome on motd but Dalgleish seems to have tied up the Saturday night slot for herself while, the much more talented, and beautiful, Gabby Logan is relegated to the Sunday night dead zone.

Or an entire team that cheat like fuck, go down quicker than a cheap whore, think they have a right to every decision going their way, and are not worthy of setting foot near a pitch.
It was a penalty. No doubt. But it's refreshing to see a top 6 team being treated like we are every game. Like Collins's non-sending off yesterday, it is a staggering decision.
Conversely, Gabriel should be ashamed. Can you see Adams or Keown going down with a fingertip touch.

Until this season they haven't had the squad. The year they blew it was after Saliba got injured and was replaced by Rob Holding. He's not even championship level.
They have played Man Utd, Liverpool and Newcastle away as well as Man City at home largely without Odegard Saliba Saka and Haverts.

Unfortunately Les I'm of an age where I can remember Don Revie & his Leeds cheats doing exactly that by employing Jack Charlton to stand in front of opposition keepers at set pieces & deliberately obstruct them from getting to the ball.
So this tactic at least goes back to the early 60s from my personal knowledge. In fact keepers were subject to a lot worse back then, ending up in the back of the net from set pieces & I can remember a certain Frank Wignall of our persuasion making an art form of bundling keepers over the goal line with ball in hand & being awarded the goals.
I also believe a certain Nat Lifthouse was famous for this a lot earlier still. Whereas you only have to give them a nasty look these days for them to get a free kick.
