Everton U21s 1 - 1 Liverpool U21s

Everton U21s started their Premier League 2 campaign with a Goodison mini-derby against Liverpool that ended in a draw.

The young Blues fell behind after just 13 minutes, but Jack Patterson (17') got them back level just 4 minutes later. And that's how it stayed.

In an incident near the end, Braiden Graham reacted when he was fouled dangerously by a Liverpool midfielder. The Liverpool goalkeeper was then sent off for bringing down Justin Clarke.

Everton U21s:  G Pickford, Finney [Y:83'], Van Schoor, Tamen, Thomas, Foster, Graham [R:90+1'], J Patterson (75' Gomez), Loney (67' Clarke), Matos, Catesby (60' Lambert). 

Subs not Used: Lukjanciks, Gardner, Davis, Benjamin.

1-1 full time.
Liverpool keeper sent off then Braiden Graham sent off. Everton had late goal disallowed when Referee failed to play advantage. Awful refereeing at any level of football.

A classic Everton/Liverpool game by the youngsters. The last 15 minutes would have had a stadium in a state of near warfare if it had been a senior game.

A most interesting watch if you are into blood and thunder. If you get a chance, watch it if that is possible and you will end up screaming at the screen.

Have you seen him Dave? Seems to be a lot of academy/turning pro players moving.

Matt Jackson interview at Wolves was enlightening. Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

Ian (7) No I can’t say I have and truthfully a lot of players are being watched by other clubs as they come through other Academy’s and are being poached with better offers which their agents are happy with because of the financial benefits to their clients and obviously themselves.

This doesn’t mean that Everton are lax in keeping hold of these players and they offer them good deals but the players and agents are swayed by the other clubs and accept those deals.
