Wolves given the penalty we didn't get v Arsenal

If you watch the penalty just awarded to Wolves (against West Ham) and compare it with the one declined for Everton v Arsenal, you cannot help but wonder what the hell is going on…

Really intelligent play by Gruda to set up Brighton 2nd goal.

Wolves heading for their first win of the season (well, and there was that game they played in the Carabao Cup...)

I see Wolves have hit a bit of form, just in time to face us next week!
If we have any pretensions of challenging for Europe (I'm not convinced we do, by the way), then we need maximum points vs Brentford and Wolves. Will we get them??

Wolves have won 5% of their games played so far, drawn 15% and lost 80%. Their one win came against the team just about as bad, if not worse than themselves. Their overall record to date is: W 1 D 3 L 16. GF 14 GA 40.
And someone thinks they're hitting a bit of form!

I did say "a bit" Rob,
Unlucky to lose to both Arsenal & the Shite, good point v Man Utd, and an easy win today.
Although just watching the highlights, I reckon a ToffeeWeb 11 would have given West Ham a game today.

Looks like West Ham will need to consider a new manager again.
They must regret parting with Moyesy.

Amazing how fast a club like West Ham can slide into the relegation battle these days.
Too little too late for Wolves and very likely Burnley will join them but, at the start of the season, I wouldn't have had West Ham as taking our place of the last few seasons.

Come on, Rob mate, I love your unrelenting belief in us and contempt for anyone else, but when four of Wolves' points have come in their last two games, you have to give them credit.
Sneaky bid for Chermiti?

Annoying to see Wolves get a result yesterday, not sure if West Ham were just so abject, but their forward line looks dangerous and this Mane kid was a livewire.
Assuming we don't get more injuries, we should still win this though and I'm hopeful for 6 points from the next two, then some justice in the return fixture with Leeds (Calvert-Lewin will of course score, regardless). To bhonest, these are 3 home games we really have to be winning if we're at all serious about a European challenge.
As for the other 2 games on the road in January, I don't see much at Villa who are looking very decent again. It will be a KITAP1 attempt I suspect.
And Brighton are one of those unpredictable sides where anything can happen - but we should have Ndiaye and Gueye back then to boost options and maybe 1-2 new faces as well, not sure about Dewsbury-Hall…
With 9-10 points from the month, we'd be right in the mix for an exciting run in. Given the poor form and inconsistency of teams outside the top 3-4 this season does feel like a really good opportunity to secure a Europa spot.
Obviously anything can happen in the Premier League, and the game is played on grass not paper or forums, but it does make a refreshing change to be thinking/looking up the table for once!
Happy New Year Toffees! COYB!

Chris @15.
West Ham were worse than abject, according to a couple of fans who travelled to the match. (I lived in Essex most of my school years and keep in touch with quite a few mates from those days.)
They said it was the worst performance they had ever seen from a Premier League team, that Wolves didn't need to be even half-decent on the day... and it could easily have been more than 3.

Paul #14, maybe we should be looking to recruit the genius that scouted him? ;-)

I think it's very interesting that 17 of the points we have gained out of the 28 we've got have come against teams in the bottom half of the table!

I was wrong about Aaronson. He has toughened up a bit and developed some moves to avoid the tackles.
I still don't like him.

He headed against the post, Dale. I like seeing teams have a go, especially against Man Utd.
Jack Harrison is on hand too if they need him! :)

Unless they turn it around I think S.Dyche may end up in the Greek Urn along with other managers they have tried

Im not sure he will want to fail with him residing in Nottingham, Bill, but the rewards for failure are absolutely staggering for managers in the EPL, Bill.

Bill (24) I think all Dyche has to do this season is keep Forest in the premier league and earn a handsome bonus for doing so— I think he will do that with ease, might even finish above the team he last managed if we dont sort the squad out this season.
