The Europa Conference League I feel will grow as a competition as the years pass, many mock it but every tournament, both domestic and European all had a birthplace.
If Everton ever did reach the final of this competition you can bet your bottom dollar it would be rocking, no matter what it is, a Final brings about excitement and anticipation.

Rarely enjoy watching Everton. The dull design of Dave sucks the life out of it.

After that incredible double post free-kick. Love that!
15 Posted 27/05/2026 at 21:19:04
You still shuffling about James or are you climbing trees again?
I'll take stability over a trophy any day.
16 Posted 27/05/2026 at 21:23:17
1995 we finished what, 15th?
However 1995 will forever be in the memory banks for us winning the FA Cup.
You don't look back on 2007 or 2008 and say "hey remember that year we finished 5th and 6th, great that eh" lol.
People only remember winners.
If you are going to finish 13th every year like us, would be nice to win a fucking trophy while doing it.

Now Glasner... come and see if you can do it at Everton.
23 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:00:56
24 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:03:51
No pots forever and then Glasner wins three on bounce. I wonder if the TFG were watching in Rome?
Probably not!
We Blues plod on with Stability!
25 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:04:11
Gone are the days when Bill Kenwright was here and he'd always get off the hook with the "only Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are winning anything anyway".
Well these days every English out there now has had a slice of the cake in the last few years apart from Everton.
26 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:04:17
Good luck to Palace. Great to see them win this tonight

29 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:08:40
Right?
30 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:10:56
PH etc. Glasner, Iraloa etc. would not touch us with a bargepole. They are ambitious. Mind you Iraloa was quoted last year saying that he would love to work with Michael Keane.
31 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:11:37
32 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:12:12
It's been mentioned that the Palace stats are similar to ours with regards to pressing, ball retention etc.
But I would take 3 trophies over Moyes stability any day of the week.
I don't think I have had any less enthusiasm for a new season in my 60-odd years of supporting Everton. I will be 70 this year and I hold no great hope of my beloved Everton ever winning a trophy again in my lifetime. Especially with Moyes in charge...
33 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:14:38
Thats might be almost half the league, but it's not stability is it?
Stability is finishing in the same position as the previous year whilst having a cob on over slightly critical questions in press conferences.
34 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:18:44
35 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:19:27
You sure it wasn't Dilly Keane ?

I thought the noise the Crystal Palace fans made all night was brilliant and to see the absolute joy on the face of every single one of them, is what makes everything worthwhile in the end.
Im lucky Ive seen us win trophies, but I think the only way Im ever going to see us win them again, is if people realise that we havent won a thing for 31 years and stop going on about fucking stability.
One of the main reasons Palace, have won a couple of trophies for the first time in their history, is because they employed a winner, but it was nice to be talking about Everton being in Europe, said Dave.
39 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:32:49
All the best for your recovery.
More than anyone on TW, it's you who needs stability. Just not the Moyes kind.
40 Posted 27/05/2026 at 22:37:10
Crystal Palace played sixty games this season, nineteen more than us, yet Moyes was resting players six or seven games into the season, in the carabao cup defeat at Wolves.
Show a bit of belief you fucking twat and try and win a trophy. Show a bit of belief and play some youngsters in the league, otherwise I honestly believe many of us on here will be dead before we win a trophy again.
Oliver Glasner is now free and available, so FFS Dan Friedkin, give Moyes the push and bring Glasner in.

I agree with every word you say Rob. But Saint Daniel the Absent and his eldest are already having meetings in Italy preparing for Roma's future. I genuinely believe that we are some distance in the mirror.
Stability for us at the moment. We play second fiddle in the Absent's plans and mind. Moyes will be with us next season (along with the more important $$$$$$ stadium), I fear, because that's easy.
God only knows what sort of a window we will have if Moyes is still with us. And Saint Angus the Silent might be able on the finance side of things but so far there is little reason for confidence on the playing side of things.
The two recent statements that serve as symptom and symbol of where we are today (and ought to come back to haunt these two erm xxxxxx):
Saint Angus the Silent: 'happily dissatisfied'.
Moyes: 'David do you understand the disappointment of fans.
No I don't understand it'.
Moyes, I dare you to say that to Rob Halligan et al on The Seven Sisters Road around 12:30 last Sunday.
44 Posted 27/05/2026 at 23:07:43
That's 3 in two seasons.
Our chap has got one in 27 seasons.

46 Posted 28/05/2026 at 03:01:22
For Everton it's only a what could have been. Thanks Dismal Dave, for another of your middling, achieve nothing, seasons.
All we proved this season is that Moyes is unfit for purpose and we will never progress with him in charge
47 Posted 28/05/2026 at 03:48:50
We all knew Palace would win.
But its ok. We won the stability prize. Thats more important.
Standing still whilst others keep moving forward.
Fuck off Everton and fuck off Moyes.
Fuck off silent Dan and his Roma play thing as well.
Time for a reset and focus on the World Cup.
No dour shite until August at least.
48 Posted 28/05/2026 at 06:53:47
I don't think Iraola and Glasner are within reach for us anymore. Eddie Howe or Marco Silva may be our best bets, sadly. At this moment for me, ANYONE BUT MOYES!

Out of the 92 clubs, over last 30 years, every club has been involved in either winning a trophy, or winning promotion. There is only one club that hasn't been involved.
Take a wild guess which club.
We are floating away into the abyss, a nothing club that never truly bothers any of the top team opposition over the course of a season.
A club that encourages early defeats in Cup competition to allow us to concentrate on avoiding relegation and maintaining stability.
51 Posted 28/05/2026 at 08:43:37
The general point - that we are pathetic non-achievers - is beyond dispute. But that sort of 'statistic' adds nothing to the discussion.
52 Posted 28/05/2026 at 08:50:51
It certainly adds to my discussions.
53 Posted 28/05/2026 at 08:58:50
OK, I think this will be my last post on TW for some considerable time as I'm just a broken record, and a broken football fan. What's the point in posting, I can't influence anything and it's just not enjoyable anymore.
I have been advocating a move for Glasner all season. He's won 3 trophies in 12 months, more than Moyes entire career.
In his time at Palace he has beaten Liverpool 4 times I think and never lost I also think. Moyes? Meh.
Most importantly, he knows football is about winning things, not simply existing. He can't win the league with Palace, but he can certainly give the fans something else to have a party over.
Anyway, I'll be back when Moyes has gone, but for now I wish every blue all the best and a relaxing summer.
54 Posted 28/05/2026 at 09:54:55
By the way going to the cemetery for a walk will really buck you up because you know you will be coming home and not staying there!
55 Posted 28/05/2026 at 10:02:08
Over the last 30 years, 45 clubs have been promoted to the Premier League - and all of them have been relegated in those same 30 years.
We could also say, out of the 92 clubs, over last 30 years, 86 of them have been relegated at least once. Everton is not in the 86.
56 Posted 28/05/2026 at 10:31:40
Over the past few years, weve seen clubs breaking their duck and finally winning a trophy. I was very surprised to read that the last time Aston Villa won a major trophy, before last week, was in 1996 when they won the league cup, so equally as bad as us. West Ham, Newcastle, Spurs and now Crystal Palace have all finally won something. In the case of West Ham it was, I think over forty years in- between winning a trophy. Newcastle it was fifty five years, Spurs it was seventeen years and for Palace their first trophy ever.
Surely we are due to break that duck and ram that song up the RSs fucking arse!!
57 Posted 28/05/2026 at 10:39:54
It's a bit of a stretch to include City among that 30, but I'll give you it if you use last 30 years rather than last 30 seasons.
Of course, among those 45 clubs are 3 who have actually WON the Title
To my mind the most damning statistic to look at is the total number of points accumulated in the Premiership by the 6 'ever-presents'. We are bottom of that table by a fucking mile. Obviously City are above us despite being out of the Premier League for a few seasons. Villa might fall into that category now as well.
We were good when I was a kid
58 Posted 28/05/2026 at 12:29:54
Man! Palace has played 60 games since last summer, 19 more than us! They are a tiny club with a very limited budget and sold three of their best players recently!
Calling them relegation candidates (and sort of underachievers) because they finished the season lower than us is just flat-out ignorance!
59 Posted 28/05/2026 at 12:39:37
True mate, it was just the non involvement in anything exiting I was pointing out.
We are a club that bothers nobody, never relegated, don't win trophies just float around wrapped in the warm blanket of stability.
60 Posted 28/05/2026 at 12:39:43
Not quite true but now we have got the new stadium and have had three consecutive 12th or 12th placed finishes, then maybe you could make up an argument that it is true.
86 clubs have been either promoted or relegated during the last thirty years, and out of the other six, how many havent won anything?
61 Posted 28/05/2026 at 13:34:57
The Moyesiah a proven whiner.
62 Posted 28/05/2026 at 15:32:31
No cups, no cup runs to speak of, no European sojurns, absolutely nothing, but a board member who reckons we are “happily dissatisfied” and a negative bastard manager who, because we never fought relegation in his first full season back at the club, regards that as progress.
No, its not progress – it's downright depressing, watching us struggling at home against the might of Sunderland Wolves, Leeds, West Ham etc is absolutely soul-destroying.
Oh yes forgot we beat Chelsea, didn't we….? But didnt everyone else around that time?
Pointless FC and I've had enough.
63 Posted 28/05/2026 at 18:12:01
I will make one exception, and that is in a game where a victory for us would hand the Title to the Shite. And it has to be literally the game which makes them uncatchable. I was happy to support Everton against City in 2014.
64 Posted 28/05/2026 at 21:09:52
Bearing in mind Moyes has been in charge for 12 of them.
65 Posted 29/05/2026 at 11:06:25
Why are we surely due to break our duck soon. just because Villa, Newcastle, Spurs, West Ham, Palace won a trophy after a lot of barren years.
Oh and add Swansea and Birmingham to that list as well… doesn't mean Everton have got a god giving right to win a trophy.
I personally won't be harbouring any hope of silverware in the near future while David Moyes is manager and these owners favour Roma above us. Thank you...
