I live in a large, comparatively bucolic county in Washington state called Kitsap. Aside from a naval shipyard and the surrounding suburbs, it's mostly trees. The population is 277,000.
Curacao's population is 156,000. The entire nation is less than one-third the size of Kitsap County.
And they're playing Germany in the World Cup.
The word "minnow" doesn't even begin to cover it.

On an entirely different topic, Fox Sports has debuted Javier Hernandez as a studio analyst for the tournament. Chicharito is an absolute prodigy. Destined for TV stardom IMO.

This is just shooting practice for Germany.
Games like this are pointless.

Curaçao somehow getting it done without their legendary captain, Cuco Martina.

There are dark forces at work in this World Cup.
The penalty decision against Qatar cemented this for me.

Come on, Japan.
Never liked Koeman as our manager. He never really wanted the job.

Mike, have you not tried to change KItsap to Kitapo?

Paul #14 Agree, Koeman was the start of our downfall, given an open cheque book, sold Lukaku and bought three no.10s, how he kept offering more money for Siggy, payed £45m, and no other club in the equation?

I quite like the way Japan are trying to play.
Wish they had scored in that first half but the Dutch just seem to be too stifling. Long passages of boredom.
Oops... shoulda kept quiet!

Christy, I'm in mourning over Summerville. He's been my number one transfer target for months, ever since it looked like Westham would go down. And that goal probably just doubled his price.
Regarding Siggy, it's a strange story, but it wasn't Koeman who insisted on overpaying for that strange purchase. It was the money man Usmanov. He wanted to make a big splash for his ego and the publicity.

Agree Mike, looks a player who would do well for us.
Love a player who's first thought is play forward.

Summerville was the type of player we should have bought, young, speedy, plenty of skill and a goal in him, he showed that early last season when he MOTM v Everton while some Everton fans were trying to tell us what a great signing Grealish was, an aging past his best days as a top footballer and plenty of fans still want him back next season.
Summerville was a very obvious type of player that is needed in todays football.

I cant quite gauge whether Paraguay were a complete shambles, or the movement of the US team was simply too good to deal with, but for me the Yanks have been the best watch so far.
I've traditionally picked an outsider to have a little Alan Whicker on and if I don't see anything tonight. I will be tempted to have a little tilt on them.
50/1 you can get on odds checker to win it. 25/1 EW (finalist).
Apologies in advance to any Yanks on here for burdening you with my bet (It's a heavy weight which has stopped many a great horse), but given what I've seen so far. Those odds are looking very attractive right now

Mike#22 Agree about Summerville, but as you say, his value will soar if he keeps scoring. Koeman getting a lot of flak for bringing off two midfielders, including your man Summerville, for two defenders, after going 2-1 up, it totally backfired, Van Dick very poor.
