Patterson trying to cover the best winger in the world is going about as you’d expect, but I have to say that he does not look at all out of place in this game. That was a well timed run into the box, followed by a very nice pass.

You can probably see now why few top clubs anymore have Scottish managers in charge: they play a very very over cautious defensive football style which is no more in keeping with modern day football.

I think it's barely worth Scotland even qualifying if they are to sneak through, other than an extended bit of fun and a piss up for their fans. Whoever they face will bury them.

I never watched the game Mike, but reading your last two posts which have both been complimentary towards Nathan Patterson, has got me thinking about Everton, for the first time since the season finished mate.

I think it’s reasonable to say that the more a player is involved then the better he should begin to do, so maybe this will be the case with Patterson, once he starts playing regular first team football, away from Everton?

The resson you have got me thinking about Everton, though Mike, is because if we go out of the cup again early next season because of the manager rotating over half of the team, then when people are arguing that the players he has brought in are simply not good enough, the rest of us will be saying “what do you expect, when you bring in so many players out of the cold, at the same time”

Hopefully this doesn’t happen, but if Moyes, does do this, then it’s exactly what will happen once again, imo.

Heard about Thomas Soucek's horrific injury in Czech Republic's game against Mexico.He might be out of action for a while, which effectively rules out any transfer possibility. I did not want him at Everton, but I feel for him. I really hope that it is not a career ending injury.
