AS Roma favoured over Everton FC

While we have to make do with poor signings from our new recruitment board, our owner's other team are making sure quality rules the roost.

AS Roma have made several key signings for the 2025-26 season, including Artem Dovbyk and Matias Soule, to strengthen their squad for upcoming competitions.

Recent Signings

Artem Dovbyk: The standout signing for Roma is Artem Dovbyk, who joined from Girona for €30.5M. Dovbyk had an impressive season in La Liga, scoring 24 goals and finishing as the league's top scorer. His physical presence and goal-scoring ability are expected to bolster Roma's attack significantly.

Matias Soule: Another notable addition is Matias Soule, acquired from Juventus for €25.6M. The 21-year-old winger had a strong loan spell at Frosinone, where he scored 11 goals in 36 appearances. Soule is seen as a promising talent who can contribute both as a winger and an attacking midfielder.

Manu Kone: Additionally, Roma secured Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach on an initial loan deal with a mandatory buy option of €18M. Kone is a defensive midfielder who is expected to add depth and stability to Roma's midfield.

Overall Transfer Activity

Roma has been active in the transfer market, aiming to enhance their squad depth and competitiveness in Serie A and European competitions. The club's strategy appears focused on acquiring young talents and proven performers to build a strong team for the future.

These signings reflect Roma's ambition to improve their performance in the upcoming season and compete effectively on multiple fronts.

The Yanks are coming, we said.... Where are they now?

Hmmm... that's pretty interesting, Paul.

And along with the Dividend clawback, and the Dan Friedkin no-show, perhaps we have good reason to worry.

In response, they'll say:

1. 1 point off the leaders.
2. They've got European football and had more success than struggle vs us.
3. They're a genuine Top 5 side in Italy, and regularly prove it.
4. The project is further ahead.
5. Fantastic city with better weather. It is one hell of a place, and I love Liverpool. More attractive for homegrown and South American players.

Michael, not so much worried as disappointed in the owner's apparent disinterest in Everton. Have they been to Hill Dickinson Stadium yet?

I know they saved us and they ask for our support, but we need a fix of cash injection for the team, and some nice royal blue paint for the stadium would be nice.

Oh, and along with a new recruitment team, as the one we have has accumulated a bigger heap of garbage as the Birmingham bin strike, and they are making the place stink.

Usually 1 year in we should be seeing some kind of clarity from what the owners want to do with this club. We've heard nothing and not seen anything from the hardly.

Regardless of what some think, much can be done in 1 year as many clubs prove, it's just Everton Football Club that continually uses the transition excuse.

Have Brentford sat there this season after losing their much loved boss and core of their team and said "Let's just finish 16th this season and start from scratch this summer"?

It always seems to be this club that is stuck in the mud.

Well the owner is a MAGA supporter.

I'll start taking this sort of apples vs oranges comparison seriously when someone can answer one question:

What would TFG gain by not exploring every avenue that could make EFC a truly competitive club again?

Until then, I just see this as pursuing victim ‘status'.

I think you could have answered your own question if you thought about it, Si.

Not wanting to see the supporters lining the streets for the last ever game at Goodison?

Not wanting to be there for the opening of the new stadium, to witness the most integral people connected to our club?

TFG are coming across as “very cold” with regards them not showing their face... but maybe I'm just an old-fashioned fool?

Hopefully in it for the long term.

One question: How much did they buy us for and how much could they sell us for?

Agree Tony (7). A poster on here keeps telling us that silence is what TFG do, as if that was excuse enough. We should just get on with it. This shows a piss poor understanding of footy culture at Everton. This is not how we prefer to do things in England. Communication was a regular complaint under the last lot.

This all said, however, I see that Dan the man was at the Roma match over the weekend and that's two at least this season. He has clearly chosen not to come to Everton, even though our city is around 1,000 miles closer to Dallas than the 'eternal city'.

What this ultimately means, I don't know. Let's see. Remember that NBA 'dude' who signed on with TFG and trumpeted that he would be at The Old Lady? He hasn't been either.

What fucking owner is not at the first game in a brand new state-of-the-art stunningly located stadium?

Yanks might think and do things differently at times, but when I last looked Everton was still in England. You don't understand us really, do you? Perhaps Friedkin is planning to move 'the franchise' to Omaha or Birmingham Alabama?

Dovbyk is out injured until April following surgery to a thigh injury.
