as a liverpudlion living in kirkby i am absolutely discusted with the attitude of most evertonians towards the proposed moov to kirkby you talk as though we are somewere near timbucktoo well let me remind you up until a few years ago kirkby was in the boundries of liverpool my post code is still l32 how many of your so called objectionists can say that there post code begins with L 99% of the families living in kirkby were born and bred in liverpool and no matter what any body says were scousers trough and through so we feel offended when you talk about boundries especialy our ardent evertoians ( my son in law my grandson my brother etc come into this cattergree )by the way you will be aprox 1/2 a mile from your so called boundry and omly 5 miles from your deralict club so keep your offendin attitudes to yourseves and stay in your shack still hoping that some mirical might happen well this is your miical and your going to blow it away.by the way my house will be coming down for your stadium so do me a favour and stay put

Apologies Fred, I too live in a family that was shipped out of the City in the early 60s and I understand your views. However, I don’t think your assertion that most Evertonians have been disrespectful to your town. I think the fact thay Kirkby is a Town rather than a borough of Liverpool is mostly to blame for those of us who think it is a mistake to leave Liverpool. Kirkby similar to the Town I live in are independent places from Liverpool and therefore cannot carry the flag of our home City. Parts of Southport also have ’L’ prefixed postcodes but you would hardly describe it as being part of Liverpool. As a Red I’m sure you too would object if LFC were to propose moving to Runcorn or Widnes, places where many Scousers were sent in the 60s and 70s.

Wow! What a great grasp of the English language. My ex girlfriend taught primary school kids in Kirby. If you want I?ll put you in touch and you can learn all about the glory of spelling and grammar!

Oh and also, you say how us Evertonians bring up that Kirby is outside of the boundaries of Liverpool. Just so you know, we aren?t the ones who put the boundaries where they are we?re just stating facts. Kirby is not in Liverpool! The end

Being from Cheshire, I’ve never considered the Wirral to be part of Cheshire but we got lumped with it by labour a few years back.

Dan. I think you?ll find the Wirral was originally in Cheshire before it got "lumped" in to Merseyside, and then "lumped" out again the few years back you refer to. I live on the Wirral and don?t really care what you consider. I can imagine your reasons though.

No offence intended at all Brian. Things just get distinctly more Liverpudlian when you get over there (which isn’t a bad thing).

I was just trying to point out that boundaries shift over time and it’s not really as simple as being either in or out.

I have cheeky London bastards calling me a midlander which drives me nuts!!

if we move to kirby/kirkby how do u spell it? never seen a sign for it never mind been there.then its the end of everton football club, we will never ever move out of the shadow of the shite.

come derby day who gets the braggin rights for the city? liverpool fc get theres, we get our ’’town’’ Its just a joke and down right insult to even consider moving a club with a history like ours out of its original city.

the thing is as much as im against moving (and i certainly wont be renewing my season ticket if we do) i just know its gonna happen. The people in charge of efc havent got the brains to do anything other than move to kirby. i only hope the majority of fans who get to vote, vote for the right thing.

Build a new stadium with a hotel etc in it? who in there right mind is gonna want to stay in a hotel in kirby? why wud u stay in a hotel in kirby?
so makin more revenue from that is just bollocks.

biggest mistake we’ve ever made was missing out on the kings dock opportunity.. the stadium there is starting to look brilliant. go back in for it, develop it further and make it bigger.

want to make revenue from a stadium through hotels etc? then a brand new stadium on the mersey in the heart of the city, next door to the albert docks.... thats how u make money. not by building a tin shed in some open space miles away.

i know its pointless mentioning coz its never gonna happen but just pointing out the opportunity we did have to the one we’re considering now. big difference i think.

This idiot Bill kenwright has already made up his mind on the move.A vote will do nothing as he will take us there if we like it or not.The man is incompetent and an embarrasment. When he took over he stated that the fans would be kept informed rather than kept in the dark like the johnson era. Good god hes worse than his predecessor. When the going gets tough , he dissapears and when things are going well he pops up with some embarrasing luvvy luvvy comment on TV.Tread water is all efc will do whilst being led by this moron.

Mike Bates before you start slagging people off. learn to spell yourself. It is Kirkby not Kirby. And to everyone else putting Kirkby down, try visiting it, you will be pleasantly surprised. We don’t bite.

^Fred, that’s what a full stop looks like. We use it to end a sentence! On another note, is it really true that Goodison isn’t structurally sound? Is there any written evidence / a news story of this online, or is it just a rumour?

James, I too am disturbed by the propaganda-ish "it’s falling down statements" including one from Sir Terry Leahy himself. As far as I know even the wooden antiquated Bullens Road stand has never failed safety regulations and always received certification from the fire brigade and surely the legal implications of substantial compensation to fans in terms of an accident the place would have closed down. The Park End is’nt that old so that certainly isn’t about to fall down.

Just a thought - maybe KEIOC would be more successful if they campaigned to move the city boundary - MKIOC!

I live on the Wirral and am proud to be part of Merseyside, Cheshire?s just a step a way from Manchester for me.

But I drift from my point - it?s not about moving to Kirby/Kirkby (however you wish to pronounce it) it?s about keeping Everton in the city and I don?t believe that there is any malice intended to people from Kirby/Kirkby - it?s just as Evertonians we want to stay in the City.

I am doing my best to imagine what a Liverpudlion is but I haven’t got a clue!! Anybody else throw any light onto this? From reading the gobshite’s comments i think the people of Kirkby need to be more worried about the effect of knocking a school down to make way for the ground because they already seem to be falling short on educating people looking at Fred’s spelling and grammar.

While I accept the right of John Patrick to express his views on any issue, I am a stickler for truth and accuracy. The truth is that he is a member of a family that relocated to Skelmersdale voluntarily, I was the first to do so in april 1967, [although I must admit that the Liverpool Corporation housing policy played a large part in my decision.]
With regard to the move or stay dilemma, until all the facts are available on this issue, and the voting eligibility settled, I believe we should all view the situation with an open mind. As Evertonians we presumably want what is best for the future of the Club, and the supporters, who will share in the triumphs and tragedies of that future.
