Kirkby or Not

It?s time for every Evertonian to be honest with themselves concerning the proposed move away from our city to Kirby.
Those of you who are unsure need to decide which side of the fence you want to be on and cast your vote accordingly.
Those of you who have decided you want this move I would ask you to think again, do the pros really out way the cons?
Ask yourselves a few simple questions ?
- How much money will be invested on the pitch?
- How do we promote corporate facilities/fill the stadium week to week with the lack of quality football being played on the pitch.
- What if 20, 30, 40% of fans decide the move isn?t for them, then what?
Why would we move ? we can?t even sell out our home matches consistently? I really don?t see us filling a 50-60,000 seated stadium with the style of football that?s been on offer for the best part of last season. Yes, I am aware of the restricted views but if we were challenging for cups / Europe etc consistently then would those views be a major factor or would you go to savour the atmosphere, just to say I WAS THERE? I know I would.
As far as I can see, Tesco?s are only providing the stadium, not investment on the pitch, a bit like Robert Earle, neither use nor ornament unless we have the investment to bring success, fill the stadium, sell the corporate boxes and promote Everton world wide. Success which may I add is well overdue.
Finally are we really bigger than the city of Liverpool that we are naive enough to think that our fans/future fans will blindly follow the club anywhere? I don?t think so. We are all custodians of our once-great club ? please do not allow those who are just looking for the cheap/quick-fix approach, to be successful in their aims.
We will have to live with this not only short term but quite possibly till our children?s children grow old. The "If we build it, they will come" mentality is not the answer, there is no quick fix or get-rich-quick schemes that are worth selling our souls and moving from our city.
Use your vote wisely, because we sure as hell won't get another chance to stick two fingers up to Kenwright & Co and force them to actually find the invester they are supposedly working 24-7 to find.

Really, I’m in favour of NOT moving, but once again I read some flawed arguments. Kirkby is NOT the end of the world. Goodison didn’t sell out because really some 4000/5000 seats are shite and we all know it. Against the DS nobody cares about it, but against Mediocre FC it only makes sense that no one will pay for such seats. If we played the same football but Goodison would have been redeveloped we would have easily filled these seats.
And I really do not want some crook from Asia or some yank looking for a quick dollar taking over our club, why are you giving Kenwright the finger over this? Would you have loved to have that Man City guy here?
I?d rather move 4 miles to Kirkby and and trust our future with someone who is an Evertonian. Than stay in the city and be taken over by foreign crooks and renamed The Liverpool Toffees.
Indeed Erik, Kirkby is not the end of the world, but it will very very likely be the end of Everton FC as we know it!How does the Kirkby Toffees sound to you?
Dwayne. Some food for thought there buddy.
As i tried to highlite in my previous post it’s the lack of clarity that does not sit right with the majority of us.
As other people have said, we have a right to know what is happening and what we will get from the deal as a club.
Believe me if all was well and a concrete visible plan was available, then i’d go and lay the first brick myself.
But the problem is, no guarantees, no information and no anything realy.
I just think it is to big a gamble, with vey high stakes.

Goodison hasn’t altered so much in the last 20 odd years has it? Bayern Munich, Liverpool 4-4, Liverpool and Man U Ferguson etc etc. I can’t remember anyone moaning about the obstructed views for these games! I know times have changed but I firmly believe that Evertonians especially go to watch the Game first and foremost. I admit cash-flow etc have taken over the sport but it is the football that I go to watch everything else is peripheral.
I agree with you Dwayne and also feel if the demand was there the poor view seats would still be taken If the only place for me was one of those than I would still go as a poor view is better than none
I don’t get to many games, live in yorkshire but I don’t go if all I can get is an obstructed view, tickets cost alot, time, petrol. The atmosphere at goodison can be electric, but honestly not very often, and I put alot of stock in being able to see the goal or artetas individual skill, I don’t like it much when I need to go watch football first to see what I missed. How many thousands of fans feel the same? I don’t know but I bet its not just me.
