Are we really holding back on all transfers till we sign Jagielka from Sheff Utd?? This could go on for weeks yet and pre-season is only a short while away... I realise we are not the only club looking to buy players BUT we are so short on players it's untrue.
Last year, Moyes and Co got it spot on; it seems this year (just like the Champions League season) he is totally off the pace. People may say that once he gets back off his hols it will be Game On but I refuse to believe it. I just hope that if a decent target becomes available the message from EFC is "can you wait 'til a week on Saturday? ? the boss is back then."
Not really good enough for a "forward-thinking club"...
I think we may be pretty threadbare come August

After reading a few posts on this site over the last few weeks, I have realised what it is people are looking for in any potential new signings. Admittedly, my Nan is pushing 80, and she does lack a bit of pace, but she absolutely loves Everton and has done for decades. In fact, my Nan and Grandad are such avid Evertonians that my Grandad is prepared to accept much less than the rumoured £7M we were going to spend on another striker (who also loves Everton). Figures in the region of four cans of Mild are being mooted by Nana's agent...
Just like our other alleged target, my Nana has no Premiership experience, is vastly over-rated, and probably is no better than what we have now. Although me Nana has the bonus of moving for next to nothing, whereas 'other targets' could leave us skint. So, to sum up, if how much you love Everton is the most important factor in any transfer, expect to see my Nan in pre-season training next week. (Finishing second to last in any training run, just ahead of Beattie...)
I did hear another rumour recently linking Big Vic with a Championship deal as a makeweight in a deal for our aforementioned 'other target'. My Grandad would like to stress that he would not be interested in any such deal, being old-fashioned like.
and good old Davey sunning himself in Benidorm or where ever it is that Jocks go these days.
I am not saying Moyes doesnt deserve a break but who is doing the bizo while he is away.Still the deadwood at our club gathers dust and a club playing in 4 comps next season should surely be more active than this.
Just one fucking signature would be nice to lift the spirits of the fans. Why wont this muppet Kenwright and his gormless side kick Moyes ever learn.
If only the club was this slow asking for season ticket renewal money.
for weeks people on here have said we must get arteta and cahill signed up cuz cahill is australian so one sniff of money from a big club and he will be off and arteta will wanna be at an ambitious club in europe, probably spanish at that. Wrong on both counts. Surely the players would be aware of our ambition and future plans otherwise they wouldnt have signed such long deals, regardless of their new pay packets. Also i dont imagine for one minute that all of our transfer plans revolve around jagielka, yes we want him but i am damn sure we want a lot of others who’s names have not yet been identified, though i am sure will soon be. We are in the strongest position we have been for years, my son is 14 and can now hold his head up high at school which is no mean feat considering where we were. Just stop moaning, have faith and lets get behind our club that we all love and is twice that of those redshite shit heads across the park!!!!!!!!!!
Blades lose appeal on relegation
Tevez was at the centre of the Sheffield United-West Ham saga
Sheffield United’s bid to regain their Premiership status appears to be over after their bid to see West Ham docked points was dismissed.
An arbitration panel upheld the Premier League’s decision not to dock the Hammers points over the signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
Sheffield United launched an appeal after they went down on the last day of the season and West Ham stayed up.
West Ham had earlier been fined £5.5m for their handling of the duo’s deals.
The Blades had wanted the panel to order a new disciplinary commission to deal with the London club.
Sheffield United also lost another claim - made jointly with Fulham - that the Premier League should have forced West Ham to de-register Tevez.
A statement from the arbitration panel read: "The tribunal have found in favour of the FA Premier League on both issues and dismissed the claims of Sheffield United FC and Fulham FC."
The three-man panel, headed by retired High Court judge Sir Philip Otton, did not have the power to change West Ham’s punishment but could have ordered a new independent commission to judge the case.
The decision would appear to mean United have to prepare for life in the Championship.
More to follow.
