Right side of midfield now solved?

I notice there is now some talk of Donovan returning to Everton in January on loan. It would be a great move and I would welcome him back with open arms. But is it such an urgent matter as it was?
Does anybody agree with me that Coleman has now found his best position? He is much better on the right side of midfield than he is at full-back and that should now be considered to be his role. While he is not the best defender in the world, he knows enough about the job to get back and cover more than effectively for Hibbert or Neville in a partnership that could match Baines and Pienaar on the other side (if Pienaar stays that is).
The lad is a revelation for me and it is disappointing in a way that the manager was a good way behind the supporters in advocating the lad's move further upfield. I expect him to stay there now because he may well turn out to be one of the most productive players in the Premier League in that position. On today's performance he probably already is!

He has neat footwork most of the time, and can take on and beat people.
I disagree entirely with your assumption you dont think he is going to make it.
I believe in the last 12 months he has come on leaps and bounds, and each game he plays he has shown more maturity and his general play is just getting better and better. Compared to Osman or Neville he is our messi in comparison.
The more this lad plays imo the better he gets. Today he was pretty much outstanding, with his passes, his ability to take people on, and even his crosses.
However, If rumours that donovan is coming back on loan in January are true. Id like to Donovan up front. He is supposed to be a striker not a winger..and at this stage we need some one up top that can hit the target unlike the Yak who's ability to hit a barn door 1 yard away and still miss not good enough.
So yeah If he does come back on loan thats where I think you will find him playing..uptop.
Btw, it's sad that DM felt a bit behind of fans in advocating Coleman as RM.
And.. it seems Osman is natural successor to Pienaar at LM....

So all good... however is he the solution - I'm not sure... Donovan is a class above the youngster.. I actually think he might be quicker.. and with his experience and footballing brain I felt we should have done everything in our power to have bought him...
Coleman is decent enough if we can't get a replacement till next summer.. but I would still like to see him fulfill his role in the future as our RB...
But as the game vent on he became more composed, had a few very decent runs, made some nice interceptions and made a lovely assist for Cahill's goal.
Whether he will make it in the long-term remains to be seen, but he's definitely got the talent.
As Afzan says, give him a few more games, then we can see. That said though, I don't honestly think Moyes plans to use him as a RW in the long-term, he's just an adequate stop-gap due to his confidence and superb talent.
He's been far better at rm than rb.
Did anyone else see the celebration for Cahill's goal and think it looked a bit odd? At first I thought Coleman was taking the piss but watching again I'm not so sure.

Coleman came to us pretty late in terms of his early development. He's got enthusiasm in spades, and a level head, but I just don't think he'll make the cut (had to resist saying cut the mustard...).
I'd love to be proven wrong, and there are numerous instances where players have been switched from their original position to a new position, and excelled - before his particularly bad hamstring tear, Ian Snodin had been reinvented by Colin Harvey from a midfielder, on the brink of an England call-up, to a right back, who was called up before injury wrecked it.
I just don't think that Seamus Coleman has the raw talent to carry him through.
