There doesn't seem to have been much talk on the Yak front via the ToffeeWeb congregation in recent weeks - are people of the same assumption that due to his lack of participation in recent weeks, particularly when we've been crying out for a goal, that we have probably seen the last of him in a blue shirt?

It can't have gone un-noticed that our best month this season was October ? a month in which David Moyes won the coveted Manager of the Month award (collective sigh throughout Goodison when we heard that) but it was also by far and away the best month of football we'd seen from Yak since his injury, capped with a fine winner v Stoke to win us the game. The week after, he's warming the bench and played second fiddle to Beckford ever since.

Anybody know anymore?

I think you mean third fiddle, after Saha and Beckford.

Maybe Moyes doesn't want him to get injured before his 2 million quid move to West Ham in January?

I can only imagine it's because he'll be sold in January. I can't possibly think of another reason why Saha is playing.

Or maybe the Yak has turned on Moyes and our ginger is giving him the famous cold shoulder. Either way, I think the Yak is off. Bad decision in my book as we can't afford to properly replace him.

He's not as good as he was, but he's still better than Saha! Am I right in saying Yakubu has started in all 3 games we have won this season? Is this a co-incidence? No, because he does more for the team than Saha does because he can hold the ball up and retain possession even if he's not scoring goals. Maybe one day Moyes will realise this fact that we don't win when Saha plays or for that matter the Great World class (too good for Everton) Steven Pienaar!...

What does Saha do exactly to merit his place in the team every week?

He plays well in training appaently Anthony.

Of course, that's a pace he's comfortable with.

He's fat, he's 40, he hardly ever scores (this is turning into a chant!), but I'd still pick him ahead of "King" Louis any day of the week.

Training? Saha doesn't train half the time because he is crocked! Maybe Moyes should buy some more leeches for him, or maybe Saha can buy some with his £50k a week pocket money he gets paid for doing bugger all.

Don't think the word "conspiracy" hasn't crossed my mind. Jump, Yak ? if Moyes wouldn't play you after what you had done in October then he never will.

I came onto ToffeeWeb to find just this debate.

We cannot bloody buy a goal. We are six points behind 6th, and had we had a half decent striker, scoring a fair amount per chances created, we would easily be 6th.

The problem is as the title of the Toffeeweb report of Saturday says: Same old, same old. We cannot score. And we desperately need a striker. And the absence of Yak can surely only mean one thing. He is off to bring in much needed funds for a new striker.

Is this Moyes's fault? Seeing that the first acquisition of the summer was a striker on a free, the main concern seems obviously to be lack of cash ? same old, same old.

More than anything, in January we must get a striker, and we must not sell Vaughan ? we need all we can get.

If the facts are looked at properly... Saha cost buttons and even his initial salary was based on pay-as-you-play. His best days were past when he signed but he has more ability than any of the others on the books; he was a gamble due to bad injuries during his time at Utd.

The Yak, Johnson and Beattie all cost lots of money... The Yak is in steady decline and Johnson/Beattie were failures.

I hope he stays but looks like Moyes is forcing him out

It'll be interesting to see how much we get for him seeing as we turned down £5 mill pre-season... anything less than £4 mill would be scandalous.

The article on the homepage from the Chester Chronicle quoting Gollum hits the nail on the head. He is a stubborn bastard who is taking us down all for the sake of some bullshit Saha tries hard in training, personally I wouldn't give a shit if he was a saint - he's a useless striker and you can't afford to play a useless striker.

He then goes on to claim not to have heard Greedy Arse (and if I might add fat arse) Anichebe getting booed and called a greedy bastard. Maybe the volume on Radio Gollum in his head really is turned up so high he can't hear anything besides himself.

Reckon there must have been a big falling out between Moyes and the Yak. Only thing that explains to me why he was dropped just as he was hitting good form, and hasn't been picked since.
