Back to Basics

There is one thing that Evertonians can certainly agree on at the moment: that something is not right at the Club. However, what my fellow Evertonians can't seem to agree on is who's fault is it. I think it is a number of things that are currently wrong at the Club and therefore difficult to pinpoint. Therefore it is surely time to go back to basics, starting with the most important, the football team.
There seems to be a number of players who don't want to play for either Everton or Moyes anymore. If this is the case, don't play them. Sell them or let them sit in the stands, I'd rather have youth, at least they put the effort in and work hard. Stand up or ship out; Yakubu, Saha, Heitinga, Anichebe, Pienaar, Arteta, Bily.
I'd have a strong word with Arteta and Bily but believe they are confidence players and keep them but on a last warning, the rest can fuck off for all I care.
That should leave a young/committed group of players that want to play. Committed Everton players are Howard, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Hibbert, Neville, Osman, Cahill, Fellaini (?), add to this the enthusiasm of the youngsters Rodwell, Coleman, Vaughan, Gueye, Duffy, Baxter, Barkley (when fit) and probably about £10m from player sales (assuming keeping hold of Arteta and Bily) could hopefully buy another striker.
Everton need to get back to what has made Everton a better side over the last few years and not these mercenaries. Deal with the team first and then the other problems (finances, stadium, etc) afterwards.

Bily, played for his last club, and for Russia, just behind the front man, Moyes gets him, and plays him as a winger, did Moyes actually have him watched? Maybe the lad should be judged when he gets a run - out in his favoured position. Same again with Bily, could you blame him for being pissed - off?
Heitinga played every game at the world cup as a centre - half, and when he played there for us, he did well, Moyes played him in midfield, where he got plenty of stick for being shite, but Moyes continued playing him, could you blame him for being pissed - of?
Maybe, at the end of the day, it could actually be Moyes that is the problem???
As there seems there is quite a few players that look pissed - off at the moment.
Some Evertonians want their heroes playing, but they want other people to be given a chance too... give them both and they moan like fuck.
Anyone seen him in the reserves?
If in doubt but another defender.
The only thing I have ever heard of Bily saying is "I'm not a winger" when he first came.
Does anyone know if Bily has been tried at centre-mid in the reserves? I'm just curious as I think there is more to him than we've seen.
With a decent forward passing playmaker, a lot more movement in the box when attacking, especially from Anichibe, Saha and Yakubu, who are just static, we just might score a few...
Quick question: Has anyone seen Anichibe or the Yak head a ball this season?
We have 1 point less than we had at the same stage last season, and are 1 place below where we were at the same stage last season?
Hardly a massive decline, and considering the board never gave him any money to spend on new players in the summer, I'd say Moyes has done the best he could have done.
Unless you think our current crop of players are capable of much better than they are currently showing - and if that's the case, maybe your gripe should lie with the underperforming players.
The idea that the board - the CURRENT BOARD NO LESS, LED BY BILL 'NO MONEY' KENWRIGHT - giving David Moyes a warning is hysterical. The baord are the ones ultimately at fault for our plight, not Moyes.
The crosses to Cahill's head have been sussed out by most teams and, due to our lack of goal scoring forwards, all the attacking play falters on the edge of the box so surely it's worth having a player on the pitch who isn't afraid to give it a crack from distance.
This season he started with a full squad, who in his opinion, and many on here, was his best squad ever, and could challenge the top 4, some even said we could win the title FFS!
So, was Moyes telling us porkies when he said his best squad ever, capable of challenging top 4 etc? Because, if he thought that, then why are we 3pts above a relegation spot, after 20 games?
"Moyes has done the best he could've done.......The board are at fault for our plight not Moyes.....". Yep, sure Moyes didn't have the funds in the summer and yes, the board at Everton our laughable... but these comments from your good self are wrong, blatantly wrong.
With his best squad yet (*Moyes ? Aug 10), I'm afraid our manager has systematically:
1. Refused to change a system that has clearly been found out by every other team.
2. Played players who are desperately out of form and stuck with them.
3. Dropped players who have come into a bit of form.
4. Shot the confidence of the strikers at club by playing 6 midfielders against a team who are struggling
5. Openly criticised players and defended others.
I'm sure no doubt others may have a pop at you my friend but I'm afraid Moyes is the most culpable person at why where we are.
I agree with every word, Moyes of course won't do it but as a fundamental principle of how to run a team that should be rule number 1.
So you defend a shocking first half of the season, full of pathetic performances and piss poor managerial decisions, by pointing out we had a shocking first half of the season full of pathetic performances and piss poor managerial decisions last season as well?
Quoted below.
"Sooner or later, the TV pundits are going to wake up and realise the trouble Everton are in. Perhaps then the huge 40/1 quotes about them making the drop will disappear - you may want to get on now. They head into this one just three points outside the relegation zone - virtually the same position they've been in for weeks now. While the Toffees haven't played that badly, they've spectacularly failed to rectify the main deficiency in the team, namely a lack of goals. And that problem could be about to get a lot worse given top scorer Tim Cahill is now away with Australia at the Asia Cup. With the likes of Mikel Arteta and Steven Pienaar well below last season's goal tally - not to mention general standards - it's hard to see things getting a great deal better, at least until a striker is signed at some stage this month."
Maybe a defeat tomorrow will make everbody realise the mess we're in. I don't think we'll go down but it could well be a close thing unless we get some decent signings in .
We have been playing the same tired old keep it tight and hope we nick one for over 6 years.
Moyes is tactically retarded and everyone on here could give you numerous examples. He won't grow or adapt new ways as he is either to stubborn or stupid. Either way its time for a change.
This whole season is down to Moyes and his tactical ineptitude/stubborness call it what you will and even though Tiny Tim is missing for a month and this is the perfect chance to play 2 strikers together he won't he'll overload the middle put square pegs in round wholes and completely fuck everything up.
The players no longer believe in him or that muppet Round so I wish they'd both do the decent thing and go!
But of course he won't because he's on his nice cushy £66k a week which by the way he strung out for 18 months before signing it hoping he would be given the nod by Man Utd first, I bet you'd forgotten that eh Simon.
I'm sorry but enough is enough, it's HIS team, HIS tactics, HIS FAULT!
Slow motion train wreck.
It is mooted that BK only got rid of Walter coz the crowd were getting at HIM. Theres the answer, ' attack ' the organ grinder not the monkey and we may find he'll be gone quicker than you can say P45.
And yes, the Yes but who Brigade will come out.
As Eugene said...All most fuckin anyone...anyone with and Attacking bias rather than the keep it tight, try and pinch one shite we have now.
I will look with interest how 1st 11 comes out Vs Spurs, not so much the WHO, but the HOW.

His post match comments about how well Saha played were bizarre but you can bet your bottom dollar he will be starting the next match sadly.
