I have seen on Ceefax a headline that flashed up at 8:15 pm that Everton accept Spurs Pienaar bid. Ceefax states that Everton have agreed a fee with Tottenham and Pienaar faces a straight choice between Tottenham and Chelsea.

What saddens me about this is that he says his next move is his big one, the place where he wants to go to win things. I don't have a problem with that kind of mentality at all but I can't see him starting anywhere close to 50% of any games at either of those clubs. Not saying he's a "take the money and run" guy but I think money is doing a lot more talking than he is letting on.
He says on Twitter that he has left for Spurs and will wear the number 40 shirt. I can't really blame him for leaving; he's what 28? And they can offer him Champions League football, we won't be getting that this season and it will be hard for us to even get a Europa spot.
Unfortunately, if we don't improve a lot over the next few years, all of our big players will want to move on if all we are doing is finishing mid table and not winning trophies, only mediocre players are going to put up with mediocre league and Cup form.

Absolutely disgraceful of Pienaar, and a great shame he had to end his spell with us in this way.
He gave us some great performances, but will now go down as a complete prat. He let us down in the biggest game of our season (probably). Really hope he struggles at Spurs and his goal rate remains the same.....very poor.

After the way Arteta has been playing we should have cut his wages and used them to up the Pienaar offer.
Pienaar has done things in an admiral way, and has kept playing to a decent standard all the way through.
Here is a tip though: January 2012 Transfer window he will sign back on loan with us, with a view to a permenant deal in Summer 2012.

The club have decided to sell him to profit on an untenable situation. But seriously, the lad will be missed, particularly by Baines. Agree with Richie James (#14). Peanuts always gave 100% whenever he played, even when the transfer speculation was rife. OK, he blotted his copybook by saying he wasn't right for the derby, but at the end of the day it was Moyes decision to drop him, not Pienaar's. Davie could've made him play of he wanted to, but the Lescott saga dictated the choice.

Suppose at least it means he can't play for Chelski against us in the Cup. Not sure where he's going to fit in there but can't be doing with his head not right attitude, so for me good riddance. Only problem with Kranjcar is lack of pace. Given the financial situation think we need to go down the young player with pace to burn and try and develop. Would love to bring Jarvis from Wolves but think we're looking more in the Jennings, Hammil areas...

It's one player. Yes he was good, but not great. The team will be fine. Any professional worth his pay will see it as an opportunity for themselves. Glad it's over.

Pertsonally I think it's the wrong move for him for all the reasons advanced above and if he's moving just for cash then I just wonder how he thinks he's going to spend an extra 10 grand a week when he can't surelyt spend what he's already getting at Everton. The greed displayed by players nowadays is disgusting and as for agents..don't get me started. I just hope we are'nt funding his agent in any shape or form. He's employed by the player and the player should pay him not the club(s).
After the Gosling issue I would be very interested to know if we were clever enough to include a sell-on clause in the contract with Spurs. I can't for a minute see why Pienaar would object as this would confirm to the player that it is Spurs intention to keep him rather than sell him on for an inflated figure. Also I think that he also acknowledges that Everton were great to him and also great for his development in becoming a £70k a week player.

I did think it a bit strange that the rumoured £60k a week deal we put on the table was only £10k shy of what he's now on? At 50% tax he's only clearing £5k more which is what, £250k a year? Peanuts really!

It's got to be money, he's not as good as Bale so he won't get a game over him and Modric and Krancjar score more goals. That melted wax faced tax dodging bastard has done the obvious to Everton and removed some creativity and weakened our side by taking out one of our players as he has a chairman with cash (god remember that stuff!), if we had a chairman worth a balloon we should be doing the same. At most he'll be a bench warmer with a few token games.

I think some of are overlooking something, maybe Arry has brought him in not as a winger, but see's him in his more natural position, central midfield. I think with this will see Krancjar moving on. Also, who would Pienaar's competition be for a centre - mid berth? Modric, Huddlestone, Palacios and Jenas, apart from Modric, Pienaar is better than all the others. As I say, just because he played on the left side for us, doesn't automatically mean thats where Spurs will use him.

Exactly Brian @37. You can't blame the lad. He isn't an Evertonian. He'll play in the Chamions league. He gets more money. Not a difficult decision really. I also don't understand why many people on here don't think he'll get a game at Spurs. Wobbly face has obviously seen how he works with Baines and is licking his lips at the prospect of teaming him up with Bale who will move to fullback, which was always Wobbly's intention anyway.
