I've been a Evertonian since the early 80s and in all my life supporting them I have never known us to be so boring to watch. Yeah, Moyes has worked with a smaller budget but he has bought some shockers for big money.
Now the time has come: he resigns... and let's us get someone else in. I personally reckon we should go for Slaven Bilic. We need someone with contacts...

Yep lets go for Slaven, he raped us for millions before , why not do it again? Especially with his masses of experience in the premier league. He is the next big thing I tells yer!!
No case made, no logic applied, weve no money so who would come here anyway? Yep its boring, its a pain, but weve bugger all resources, the team needs rebuilding after a real let down of a season, but lets support the manager and the players, get through the rest of the season and hope that we can spend a bit and regenerate our ailing club. Oh, and Moyes record on transfers is better than most, esp as he has considrably less to spend than most.

I've said it before and today I think it is more pertinent. Moyes and Kenwright are a double act and David Moyes has kept the heat of his partner for years. In return he has been well rewarded financially for it. The greatest service David Moyes could do our club is to resign and to damn Bill in his resignation speech; to tell the truth about what is rotten at the club.
It won't happen ,of course, but if it did I'd regain the respect I used to have for the man.

We play average quality football because we spend nothing on players. In case you didn't realise there's a link. You spend nothing you get nothing. Do you honestly think we will rip open teams when we sell our best and our remaining players know this club is a sinking ship?
No matter what, this side is capable of doing better. We have seen so in the past. We have a talented side, we just don´t win.

I have wanted him to go before and i hold my hands up but he is simply the best we are gonna get. I feel sorry for the guy because if we dont bring anyone in before this transfer window shuts we are in serious danger of being relegated. We were absolutely appalling today against the worst team in the division and it breaks my heart. Kenwright has to resign because he is a disgrace.

It's not just the boring football or the crap results. It's the lack of ideas. The only striker (Beckford) that looks like scoring either doesn't start or gets subbed far too early, the player (Bily) with that extra bit of quality hardly gets any game time at all.
Moyes' favourite players like Osman, Anichebe, Hibbert, Neville, Saha all get regular game time even though they hardly contribute anything to the team. You can even include Arteta in that last list. Moyes needs to be more ruthless, if players aren't performing then they need to be dropped.

moyes has done my head in this year, but this transfer window has brought it home how fucking inept Kenwright and the board actaully are.

If David Moyes was 'foreign' then the vast majority of fans would bee all over him by now, as it is, he is allowed to get away with murder, and has gone well beyond the point at which we should have shook hands and said 'thanks, but we need to move on now'.
There is one man who stands out to me a mile as the man to take Everton FC forward from here and he is perfectly attainable to us IMO.

He has the right attitude, he has the bug club pedigree, he has proven experience and success working with a small budget and he only has 18 months left on his Fulham contract.
I believe he would jump at the chance to come here and aside from the confidence I have that he and Mark Bowen would improve results, Hughes employs a very positive and attacking brand of football,which the fans of this club have been starved of for far too many years now.

A striker Moyes paid £11M + for is on loan at a championship club. He paid nearly £6M for a class centre half who is usually only good enough to warm the bench. He paid nearly £10M for a Russian international who barely gets any playing time. Not to mention Yobo.
In addition, he will have ok'd the decision to give an extended contract of £75k / week to a guy who has not performed to his highest level for many years.....and perhaps if Arteta was paid 'just' 60k / week, Pienaar may have accepted parity and we'd still have him at the club too.
The manager is the energy behind the club. He is the leader, the one who instils confidence in the players before the games. Does DM instil confidence when you hear him at a press conference? His demeanour is negative and miserable and he seems to set his team out not to get beat. I am not surprised the players seem to go out there with no belief and try to hang on to a draw.

Our problem this year is obvious- we do not have a top class, or even a Premiership class, striker. Our main three strikers- Beckford, Saha and Yakubu have combined for a grand total of 5 PL goals!
Even the game yesterday, as poor as we were, would have been won with a decent striker. Before they even scored Beckford had a chance from the only decent bit of play in the first half but was tackled before he could get a shot away. Contrast that with Saha's almost instant control and shot in the second half which led to Coleman's miss. The problem is though, Saha cannot get through 90 mins anymore.
Moyes has his faults, as any manager does. My family are all Man Utd fans and they are often critical of some of Ferguson's decisions at times. But I do not lay the blame for this season totally at his door. It is obvious we are lacking in probably the most important area of the pitch and I think a lot of the other problems we are having, lack of creativity, our best player (Arteta) having a poor year are results of that.
How great it would be to be able to go out and drop £18m in one go on a Darren Bent. Limited footballer though he is, he would be just like Yakubu when he first came to us. Not doing a great deal until the ball came in the box, but then more often than not sticking it away. Problem is, we know we couldn't afford Marcus Bent let alone Darren!
Given that the position is not likely to change, then Moyes has an unenviable choice this summer. I'm sure he knows that he needs a new frontman, and he knows he will have to generate his own funds to buy one. I fully expect that we will generate some money from selling the likes of Yak, Yobo and Vaughan, and probably Heitinga as well, but nowhere near enough. Therefore, I think either Rodwell or Arteta will be moved on. It won't be popular but we are a sell-to-buy club and our one area of depth is centre midfield. It will be a gamble, and if it fails then I think those on here who want Moyes out will get their wish.

On the pitch at the moment the answers are fairly clear. Drop Arteta. Drop Heitinga. Drop Anichebe. Play Bily and Tim when he is back (at least they can score). Play Rodwell and Fellaini together and protect the defence. Bring back Jags. Pray for a decent striker on loan.

DM has had plenty of chances but he's like a broken record, any team that wants to plan on how to play against us can pick any footage from during DM's time at the club and you can guarantee that will be the gameplan.

Corners - never short ones, always Arteta or Baines, be careful the latter may actually land in the box - check
Corners against Everton - chop and change short and long, will confuse the hell out of them, guarantee 11 men in the box defending so if they clear you get a second chance straight away - check
Players out of position - a DM special this one, look to see a defender in midfield or a central midfielder on the wing, exploit this as it won't change for some time during a match - check
Score the first goal, Everton seldom come back from a goal down to win a, score and park the bus - check
Everton substitutions - always late in a game and usually chasing it, two major things to note, you'll usually see them coming, Moyes and or Round talking to the subs for an eternity before they come on, plenty of time to plan a response, far too often after 80 mins into a game, keep your shape and heads and the game is in the bag - check

Unfortunately as the clown who sat in front of me in the Park End proved today, you've got really gullible idiots who think all is well, he didn't even stay long enough to see any of our goals and hopefully he was taken back to his care home or wherever he had wandered off from.

lets face it - David Moyes has the safest job in football - Kenwright will never sack him I think he only way Moyes will go if the fans starting singing moyes out!! If there is to be a new manager i have been thinking about Glen Hoddle! someone who would play attacking attractive football. I feel he would get the best out of our attacking assets such as Baines Coleman from fullback. Bilic isn't an obvious shout, but to those dismissing him, I would have to ask how he is any less qualified than David Moyes was when he took over as Everton manager? Sure, Moyes had managed a club side...but at a poor level, and Bilic has experience dealing with big name players and getting the best out of them.

Your comments are spot on. Moyes looks like someone who resigned months ago and BK has definately burned a lot of bridges and now the recession has fucked up any chances of him buying cheap and selling big.
Players will be sold that is for sure, they seem to be playing like they are aware of this. As for Arteta, he took a corner yesterday at the Gwladys end, and yep it was well short. However, shortly afterwards he was speaking with Baines & shaking his head. Arteta did not take another dead ball kick. Something is definately amiss.
Confidence amongst the players is low that is for sure, however it's making GP like a funeral palor with many fans arguing amongst each other, why is beyond me! Anyways, i had my two boys with me yesterday so we missed the last 3 goals, basically to avoid my kids having to listen grown men slagging off Neville & Osman to a depth I have not seen before.

If Saha is fit you play him simple as, and the sooner Cahill is back the better, that side looked devoid of any leadership and there just seems to be some kind of aura of having Cahill there even when he is not playing too good.

The whole club is badly run from the top down; the number of complaints on here shows that:
People not getting tickets for away games then the box office being shut when they want to contact someone.
Players being allowed to leave for free because no one wrote on a piece of paper.
Cancel a game just because they are too tight to pay someone to go in and put the heating on.
Getting excited about a £12 million pound deal when the other clubs get more than that a season for sponsorship.

I had my worst fear about our club confirmed during the week when in a conversation with a person who is well connected within the inner circles at Everton told me about a "bid" we made for Adam Hamill who signed for Wolves for £600k. We enquired about taking him on loan with a view to buy. We were quoted £250k that included loan fee and wages. We DIDN'T have the money to do that!
So I for one don't believe that we will have any of the Pienaar money to spend.

Everyone knows we need some players with pace to attack, and Moyes has done nothing about it. It's so agonising to hear Graeme Sharp on the radio bemoaning the lack of tempo and pace, it's the same game after game so why have we got Osman playing outwide season after season!?? Get a grip Moyes! Maybe he should actually give our quicker players like Gueye and Vaughan a chance to help us up the tempo and provide an outlet and a threat, instead of persisting with Osman and even Coleman in midfield, who could play at right back if we wanted to go attacking against a bottom of the league team like West Ham.
The other thing I picked up on was that Sharp was complaining that we have no-one to hold the ball up and play off. Wait there...I thought that's what Yakubu does, whether he's playing well or not (and he's better than Beckford and Anichebe) so well done Moyes for yet another masterstroke loaning him out and we will get zilch for him.
