I heard on TalkSport this morning that the owners of Liverpool FC don?t want to move from Anfield.
What are the chances of Phillip Tesco?s and Big Bill looking at the possibility of a nice blue stadium being built instead of a red one?

The planning permission would probably be revoked.
Nothing should built there. I would be ashamed if we built on such a fine park. Anyway, zero chance regardless.

We have as much chance of moving into Stanley Park as getting a billionaire benefactor by Sunday. If we are going down that wishful lane, let's hope for a win tomorrow, followed by more consistancy, and getting a respectable league position. Not too much to ask for surely.

The planning permission though is based on Anfield being demolished; as that wouldn't be happening, there is no way a new stadium will be allowed to be built alongside Anfield. (Funds being the other obvious issue.)

I have said this before, but if we ever get funds couldn't we re-shape Stanley Park to incorporate the space which we leave behind? The road which presently cuts us off could easily be re-routed, or simply a bridge connecting the two sites? Thus we have not eaten up any park space.

I didn't agree with a stadium being built on Stanley Park when we were refused permission to do so. I didn't agree when Liverpool got permission, but couldn't understand why they received permission when we didn't.
I actually would grab the opportunity now, the council seem desperate to sell the land, but alas, I don't think we could afford to build a stadium.

The last time I looked, the RS stadium came with a £300million price tag. To concur with Bren Connor (#1): zero.

Suppose Goodison could be turned into a massive Tesco and a ground built on Stanley Park, would have to be more like the Kings Dock plans than the Kirkby offering though.
Take a look at an aerial picture of Goodison. For less than £5m we could probably buy the school, the church, the old houses landlocking us. We might have to bide our time, or petition the council into giving us compulsory purchase orders but it woudn't cost all that much.
Then we can take our time upgrading Goodison stand by stand. Perhaps that's what Kenwright is doing with the Pienaar money and saved wages ? putting it into a stadium fund.

Even if we had the cash we wouldn't get planning permission.
But of course we are so broke we couldn't even get a couple of loan players in and pay part of their wages even after we dumped of 3 players 2 of which make a decent wage.

John #18, a supermarket would be highly unlikely to want GP as there will be a big Sainsbury's as part of Project Jennifer nearby and they would struggle to get planning permission.
As far as Stanley Park goes, if we can't afford a single loan player, we've got no chance of doing anything on Stanley Park.

I read an article in the Echo sometime ago written by Dave Prentice saying the council owed us one because we had been refused permission to build there whereas Liverpool had there's accepted.
Like I said, I don't believe any stadium should be built there; I don't see us moving away from Goodison or redeveloping it (unless legally obliged) for a long time.

Let's take an area which is somewhat down on its knees and build a fucking football stadium on the only nice part that the people who live there have to walk in.
