Everton have been hit with a second injury blow in days as Louis Saha faces a month out after pulling a hamstring in training.

The absence of the France striker is a massive blow to the club, and boss David Moyes, and comes hot on the heals of Thursday's news that Jack Rodwell is out for at least a month with a groin injury picked up on international duty.

Saha, who was hailed as one of the best finishers in world football last week after he netted four against Blackpool, has suffered with hamstring injuries throughout his career and it looks like the curse has struck again.

It means Moyes is likely to be without both Saha and Rodwell for the next month as he looks to guide the side away from a possible relegation battle.

Well played, Moyes.

(Sorry about the cynicism but you didn't have to be a rocket scientist...)

Alternatively Moyes might play Anichebe for his physical presence, although his lack of genuine goal threat would be a worry.

It will be interesing to see what he decides.

Seattle Sounders star Freddie Ljungberg has been playing with a broken hip for TWO YEARS!

The injury-hit Swede joined Major League new-boys Seattle Sounders after tearing up a four-year contract at Upton Park last August.

And it was only after Ljungberg, 32, arrived in the US that specialists pinpointed a dodgy hip as the root of his problems.

The midfielder said: ?The doctors found out the hip was the reason I had so many hamstring injuries.

?I had an operation and was told it would take up to five months to recover. But I only missed the first three games. I feel very good at the moment.?

The galling thing is that this is a very talented footballer but who is beyond the pail as regards his so-called "proness to injury" It is a pity that they do not do scans regarding character, commitment, engagement and responsibility ? we would then have a clearer picture as regards the true worth of Louis Saha ? a talented footballer but a complete waste of time as regards dependability.

What a superb position he finds himself in ? able to "cry off" at the least opportunity ? and because of the dire situation at the club ? continue to have people fawning over him both within the management and on the terraces. The tragedy is that Everton's situation at present means he is able to get away with it...
