Whether Yakubu was ejected from the club for financial reasons or because of the stubborness of a certain dour Jock, one thing is for certain right now we miss him.
Yakubu is no doubt on a good wage packet but the guy is a goalscorer. Whether you like his lazy languid style is another thing, but Yakubu isn't a box to box player, he's not gonna be chasing balls into the corner flags. Yakubu is a goal poacher pure and simple he lives in the box and only comes alive when an opportunity arrives.
When strikers are in short supply and your staring relegation in the face why loan your best striker? Especially after you have nursed and nurtured him for 12 months following a career threatening injury. So we pay his wages getting him fit and then when he's looking to contribute on the pitch we sack him off.
David Moyes has got this decision very very wrong.
I jokingly said to my mate after Sahas 4 star show that he will probably pull his hamstring getting out of bed tomorrow, and now low and behold Saha is out for 2-3 weeks. With a strike force such as Saha who is effectively a massive liability, Beckford who's not good enough as a lone striker and Mr can't be arsed Anichebe, the loan of Yakubu is puzzling.
Yakubu was stunning against the shite at Goodison and then from that match onwards he was marginalised and eventually loaned. Why???
By loaning Yakubu, David Moyes is now playing Russian Roulette with our Premier League survival at stake. I hope it's a decision we all don't live to regret.

His goal (at 1m05s) is simply superb skill ? the sort we know he has. Then, look at his turn of pace just before their second goal (from 1m55s). He didn't show this in the last 2 months with us. What is noticeable is his hunger and willingness to try for the team. What is different?
As Daniel rightly says, there is simply NO logic in us spending over a year (at a cost to us of £2-3million) for his recuperation only to see Leicester get the benefit of his goal scoring / poaching abilities?
Especially when we are desperate for a dependable striker!
He is playing well for Leicester, they beat somebody 4-2 and he had a hand in 3 of the goals. and the goal he scored against Derby would have beaten ANY keeper/defense at any level.
But the problem with the argument that we shouldnt have loaned out Yakubu, even though it is a sound and sensible one, is the stark fact that he the player has underperformed for the last TWO-AND-A-HALF YEARS. It is ludicrous logic to assume that if we hadn't loaned him out, he would have somehow snapped back to his old goal-machine ways for us. He'd only scored once for us this season; come on lads, be realistic.

Anyone up for a last day of the season win or draw against Chelsea to stay up? It's so depressing at the minute you can see that coming as scary and surreal as that seems.
Davey admits maybe he's too soft on the players, whatever needs done Davey, just do it, if you have to hammer them then so be it, if there's any complaints tell them to look at their pay packet at the end of the month and remind them that the fans who pay to watch the crap they served up this year would happily give anything to be in their position.
It's called pride and determination, and we used to have a lot of it. Sort it Davey, and quick.
Sadly, we could have at least done with him as an option til the end of the season. It's a gamble and wasn't worth taking in my opinion as we are a long way from safe.
Vaughan and Anichebe obviously aren't up to the task. Anything we get out of Saha is a bonus which left Yakubu and Beckford. Both good strikers that know where the goal is, but neither are good enough to play as a lone striker.
A lone striker needs to have a great all round game like Drogba or Torres. Therefore our only option would have been to play Yakubu and Beckford together as a partnership. Why on earth Yakubu was let go is beyond me.
If we wanted to lower the wage bill, why not get rid of Heitinga? On similar wages and we have cover in Jagielka.
It's Moyes' stubborness, and it's gonna cost us our Premiership lives.
Why then did we loan him? Are we really so broke we couldn't afford his wages until the end of the season?? This seems so crazy I have trouble believing it, but I struggle for any other explanation. Even if Yak was utterly unmotivated, I can't understand why we wouldn't want to keep him around as a decent backup.
All this implies to me that things must be in a very, very perilous state at the club, financially. Maybe the administration talk wasn't as far off as some think? Strange times..
Maybe If the fat fuck had come back from the world cup not over weight, not agitating for a move to west ham, had actually run around a bit and scored some goals to justify his wage then maybe we wouldn't be in this position.
People on this website were slagging him off not long back but now he's fucking Ronaldo according to the same people.
He was let go because he was playing shite for EFC plus we are FUCKING SKINT and had to get his wages off our wage Bill. It's not difficult to understand.

I don't think anyone is to blame here. He was a good signing for us, got injured,was given a chance by Moyes, never recaptured his form, was loaned out, is playing for a move. It looks like the offer came in for him from Liecester and we took advantage of it. There is every chance that if they'd asked for Saha they would have got him too.
Robert Elstone claimed in his pre-match interview on Radio Merseyside last Sunday that players available in the transfer window did not offer "value for money". Really.
But because it's a "conspiracy theory" with "hidden sources" and can never be "confirmed", sadly most fans will conveniently ignore this inconvenient truth. Just like they did with Gary Speed.
MANAGE THE PLAYERS like a MANAGER should!
Is it no wonder we don't have proper midfield enforcers in the squad, anyone will a slightest spark of fire in their bellies is SHAFTED out by Moyes the dictator.
Fucking hell, Moyes! Piss off ? I want my best players back!

The '29-year-old's' form was just about picking up so the departure to the Foxes is definitely a strange one indeed.
