No Pressure on Kenwright
Comments (21)
It bemuses me how many of us Evertonians voice our opinion on websites like this, on the radio and between ourselves about how disgruntled we are with Mr Kenwright... yet the general feeling is not voiced in unison.
The premise that he's "One of Us" just doesn't wash anymore. There has been absolutely no investment in our club for far too long now without good enough explanation why. The only money that has been spent is what we have recouped from sales, and now we're selling and loaning out players from what is already a thin squad with no sign of replacements.
Year on year, we're getting the early renewal hard sell for season tickets followed up by the half-season ticket just prior to the transfer windows opening. Many of us buy in hoping to see investment and fresh faces but they never come, even when we're told that "There is money available for David Moyes".
Apparently the club has been for sale for years ? to the right buyer ? yet nobody suitable has come forward. Therefore, we are either in worse financial trouble than any of us realise, the major shareholder is asking too much money, or he really won't relinquish control of the train set. Perhaps all three are true. We'll probably never know because it's all kept very quiet and we let it be that way.
I despise Liverpool FC but you have to hand it to them: they didn't stand for their crap owners and put their weight behind pushing them out. Maybe it's time we did the same? Change is certainly overdue. Could a new owner really be any worse, or are we all too scared after what Agent Johnson did... and don't want to rock the boat further?

I've been asked recently on this website by lots of pro or do fuck all about it themselves merchants what will I do, I've also asked where has the spirit of the fans gone that chased Johnson from the club?
We should protest and we should become media attention seekers to get the message out there that we aren't satisfied anymore. I've just posted an article which hasn't hit the site yet, hopefully I'll get responses from both sides of the fence on it.
We are in serious decline, the board haven't got a pot to piss in, and have gone into the witness protection programme.
All this 'true blue' shite has never washed with me as he doesn't do what's best for Everton FC, he does what's best for Bill Kenwright.
The man's an arrogant power crazy egomaniac and he's slowly but surely destroying this club.
Unless we can find this magic billionaire then the reality is there for everybody too see. Most fans understand that ousting BK doesn?t achieve anything without investment or a new owner. This problem is bigger than the petty hatred of BK. A good article in the Times yesterday Goal supplement, last page; final paragraph is very poignant to our current situation. I and all my friends who attend the match are happy to stay with what we have for the time being; I feel that is generally the feeling about ? that?s why you don?t have any appetite for a demonstration. Hey, I'm no saint and my love for Everton is unquestionable, but what the fuck are we, as supporters, supposed to do?
This is not the 70's or 80's where mob war fare was common at any ground, there are now many rules that the stadium stewards will ensure you, the supporter, obey - and believe me BK will have instructed the stewards to eject any supporter who does not obey those rules.
Being labelled "Apathetic fans" is quite a kick in the teeth to supporters who can see a hugh part of their lives, Everton FC, getting internally and externally battered. We are not thugs, we just want answers.
Moyes is taking 65K per week for his troubles, surely he is in a financial position to say "fuck this" and walk, or is his love for the money too great?
Standing in your seat at GP and shouting "fuckoff BK" is no good, however several thousand fans, standing together, and shouting that same statement will definately get you heard and it will definately keep the stewards busy.
Ah...the sight of cushions, skipping and frisbeeing towards the directors' box, the players entrance a carpet of blue polystyrene, a ring of coppers (is that right collective noun?) surrounding the pitch...happy days
Trouble is, not enough of us left who remember and believe in Nil Satis and getting fed up arguing with the realistic, we know our place, we're skint, post-Sky support
The point being who exactly is running the club as I suspect Bill is were he is due to the grace of others E.g. Earle bailing him out by buying up Greggs shares.
Unfortunately it is looking as though no one is interested in Everton FC. Old stadium, too much debt etc.
We can all post on here about the Chairman, the Manager and Players letting us down but the reality of our plight is it is none of them ? it is the lack of MONEY!
Kenwright should never have bought the club in the first place if he knew he didn't have the money to take us forward. Ergo, here we are now, chickens finally coming home to roost.
If we hadn't been blessed with the emergence of Wayne Rooney and the funds his sale generated six or seven years ago, I dread to think what sort of state we would be in now. The sales of Rooney and Lescott have given Kenwright breathing space for a few years to make it look like he was spending money. In reality our, transfer kitty has not been Board generated.
We now find ourselves looking at a summer transfer window where we have already more or less been told there's no money for any players. If other clubs around us strenghten in the summer, do we think our current small squad of players will be enough to fight off a relegation battle next season?
If we are to voice our opinion, it's critical we act NOW before it's too late. We need a unified, coherent, strategic and organised protest, we must visibly pull together on mass on the street AND in the media on a regular basis both on match days and at appropriate key events.
These ARE dire and serious times for our club, we are in a perpetual downward spiral with no relief in sight. We need a complete change in the boardroom AND across the business as a whole and we need it NOW, or it WILL be (and mark my words) RIP EFC. I kid you not.
In March, in Aberdeen (where I live) Kenwright is Promoting his latest Production at His Majestys Theater... JEKYLL & HYDE!!
I never thought I'd see something so apprpriate to our invisible Charman!

Keeping the books balanced is one thing but neglecting the team could lead to the Championship where income will be even more depleted. We are now in the dogfight and make no mistake every game is crucial from here on in.
It is hard to believe that a club like Everton cannot get an investor when other so-called smaller clubs seemed to have had no trouble... still, that does not have any bearing on Moyes's team selection and tactics which have been very questionable this season.
My thoughts exactly.
But I woke at 5am this morning after a dreadful nightmare about us ACTUALLY being relegated.
It made those days you mention seem like a peace protest, the nightmare had thousands of Evertonians exploding into anger ripping up seats, fires in the stands, board members being assaulted, death threats ? horrendous stuff. The news media recording every unsavoury moment
As I lay awake the horrible dawning of what us going down might really mean sent a shudder down the spine.
I hope the buggers involved know Armageddon could be round the corner.
