Jagielka says he's ready to play

Phil Jagielka has told England Manager Fabio Capello that he is ready to play for England at the weekend after coming through Friday's training session with no problems.

Jagielka missed training on Thursday, further strengthening a belief he would not be involved against the world champions. However, the 29-year-old completed Friday morning's session at Wembley without a problem and has assured Capello he will be fine if he is called upon.

"He played normally today," said the Italian.

"I spoke with him. I asked him if he is ready to play. He told me yes."
