Ian Ross leaves Everton over emails

The Echo reports that Ian Ross has left his job as the Director of Communications at Everton FC. The leaking of damaging emails from Ross two weeks ago that revealed a lot about the inner workings of club were deeply embarrassing and critical of CEO Robert Elstone and it appears to have made his position untenable.

Initial reports in the Echo suggested that Mr Ross would be moving into a new, pre-planned role at the club but that is no longer the case.

There has been no official comment as yet from Everton FC.
