Everton recall Shane Duffy

Everton have recalled on-loan defender Shane Duffy from Scunthorpe United - but the Iron hope they have not seen the last of the talented 20-year-old.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has returned to Goodison Park to provide cover ahead of the Toffees' FA Cup third round clash with Blue Square Premier side Tamworth after seeing England centre-back Phil Jagielka limp out of his side's defeat to Bolton on Wednesday.

Duffy - whose current month-to-month stay at Glanford Park was due to end next week - was refused permission to play for Scunthorpe in their FA Cup matches with AFC Wimbledon in November.
