Jelavić itching to play

Nikica Jelavić says he can't wait to get out on the pitch again after a frustrating, injury-plagued start to his Everton career.

The striker flies back to his native Croatia this week for their friendly with Sweden after coming through a training session at Finch Farm last week and apparently recovering from a groin injury but he is also looking ahead to Saturday's trip to Loftus Road.

The ex-Rangers man has played just 30 minutes as a substitute since arriving from Ibrox on transfer deadline day and he is hoping to get another run out when the Blues face QPR.

"It's been frustrating for me, believe me," he told evertontv. "I can't wait to get out on the pitch again.

"I think it's been a good thing for me that we have had a two-week break because I have been able to prepare myself well and hopefully I can be ready to get out there soon and show people what I can do."
