Pienaar forced to sit out again

He was ineligible for the Blackpool FA Cup tie and Steven Pienaar will have to watch from the stands again as Everton take on his permanent employers, Tottenham on Saturday.

One of the stipulations of the South African's loan deal that brought him back to Goodison from White Hart Lane in January was that Pienaar would sit out when the two teams met in the Premier League.

"It's a game I would have loved to play in for obvious reasons," said Pienaar, "but I fully understand Spurs' reasoning and I have no recriminations about that."
