Ross Barkley is fit but has featured just once — as an 82nd-minute substitute — since being forced onto the sidelines by a knee injury in November, and it appears unlikely that David Moyes would bring him back into the first team for Old Trafford.

"Ross will be back in the squad [at some point]," said Moyes. "But we're trying to win and trying to stay up there and win at Old Trafford so you've got to make sure you go with the senior players and make sure the boys know their job. Not always is going with your young ones in those sorts of games the right thing to do."
