'We played some top stuff'

David Moyes was very pleased with the classy football Everton produced on the final day of the season to comprehensively beat Newcastle and deny them a finish that could have earned them Champions League football next season.

Moyes said: "Anybody who's watching us now, we're purring. We played some top stuff today and I think we've been playing in that fashion for the last few months. It was really good to watch.

"I thought today we looked like the side that could quite easily have been pushing for a top-four place. We weren't behind anybody else, we matched them.

"We played them up at Newcastle and they were better than us, but I don't think anybody doubted today that it was Everton who were the better side.

"Maybe we could have scored more, we played that well."
