Late Blues face off at Wembley

England 1 - 0 Belgium
The final test for England before Euro2012 kicks off in just over a week saw the national side pitted against Belgium and Marouane Fellaini (captain in place of Vincent Kompany) at Wembley this afternoon. But neither Baines nor Jagielka started for England, as Roy Hodgson made seven changes to the team that beat Norway last week. Fellaini did get to face one of his Everton teammates when Phil Jagielka replaced John Terry in the 70th minute.

The England team that started today was: Joe Hart, Glen Johnson, Ashley Cole, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Steven Gerrard, James Milner, Scott Parker, Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Wellbeck scored with a nice chip over the advancing keeper against the run of play in the first half. Belgium had some good spells but Fellaini was playing almost as a centre-forward and looked to be wasted there, although Jags had fun keeping him in check over the last 15 minutes.
