Also known as "this wouldn't even be a question if Baines played for Chelsea and Cole played for Everton..."

I think the best solution would be to play Leighton left midfield in front of Cole for England. Bale is a good example of a full back who has converted to a midfield player. After Bale, Leighton is the best attacking left sided player in the PL and certainly a better option than James Milner.

Baines is the best left back in the world. Who else scores penalties? Free kicks? Defends and attacks the way he does? He is the complete footballer.
