Ghezzal turns down Everton move

RMC Sport and L'Equipe report that the player has definitively rejected the chance to move to Goodison Park and could yet stay with the Ligue 1 club where he is still trying to negotiate a new contract.

Ghezzal's current deal expires next summer and talks over an extension had reportedly stalled over the Algerian international's desired €200,000-a-month salary package, prompting Lille to reluctantly accept an offer from Everton that also guaranteed a 20% sell-on fee.

Ghezzal was hesitant over making a move to England, however, particularly to a club not able to offer him European football, and it now appears that the 24-year-old will be staying put for the time being despite interest from Southampton.
