Transfer journalists Fabrizio Romano and Paul Joyce of The Times confirmed the development that the club has reached a consensus with Pickford’s camp. “Jordan Pickford set to sign his new, long-term Everton contract this week,” Joyce posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Jordan Pickford has agreed to sign new long term deal at Everton, everything done and approved by player’s camp,” Romano added. The 31-year-old, signed from Sunderland in 2017, has been one of the most influential players in the club’s modern history. He made his 300th Premier League appearance for the Toffees in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace just a week ago. He has kept 85 clean sheets in the league and was named Everton Player of the Season four times –in 2017-18, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24. Since signing for the Blues, he has also been the undisputed number 1 in goal for England. Pickford also surpassed Gordon Banks to become the first goalkeeper to keep eight consecutive clean sheets for the national team during the current international break. James Tarkowski also signed a new deal with the club recently and once Pickford’s new contract is made official, the club is expected to address the future of James Garner who’s in the final year of his current contract.
