Covid Recovery & Blue Legends

I am recovering from Covid.

I spent 10 weeks in hospital, was on a Ventilator and had a Tracheostomy. During this time, it was very traumatic for my family, and they tried everything to try and get a response or reaction from me through nurse-aided video calls. My son, through Twitter, got a short video message from Barry Horne which is one of the only things I can remember from my 5 weeks in ICU.

After I eventually came home, I was unaware when I answered the phone it was Graeme Stuart, acting as an Everton Ambassador, and I enjoyed speaking with him about his important contributions to Everton's survival.

But I must save my special thanks to our one and only "Great Nev". Again through Twitter, he phoned me and chatted for 30 minutes. He offered encouraging words and disclosed he was positive about the Blues future. He took time out of his day to speak to me even though it was actually his daughter's birthday.

I thank all 3 and it illustrates that we are all in the "Blue Family".

Three players who all played the last time Everton won something, I just hope we haven’t got long to wait to celebrate us winning something again Anthony, although being so sick but beating Covid, is obviously something to celebrate for you and your family mate.🙏

Hi Anthony, so glad of hear of your recovery and the subsequent well wishes from the three ex Everton players, I know that Everton are derided now and then, for their involvement in the 'Everton in the Community' scheme, but it's at times like this that I'm proud to be an Evertonian. As you rightly say we are all part of the 'Blue Family', good luck to you and your family, your unpleasant experience reinforces my belief that 'There more important things in life than football'.

Anthony (Tony) is a personal friend of mine.

His family and all his friends were very worried about him and it was such a relief when we heard he was on the road to recovery. I know that hearing from Everton legends was a massive boost to him.

Everton have made a big difference to the community and gestures like the ones for Tony make me proud to be an Evertonian.

See you soon for a pint, mate.

Well done Anthony and well done to the Everton boys.
Despite all of the crap we are a great club to belong to and I love it.
