Fans protest outside Goodison Park
A gathering of hundreds of people assembled outside the ground after a tweet was sent out this afternoon alerting supporters of the proposed action.
Chants of "sack the board!" were accompanied by ironic banners reading "No Status No Optimism" and "School of Silence.
The criticism comes against the backdrop of mounting frustration with Everton's owner, Farhad Moshiri, and the Board of Directors for a lack of communication and their shambolic stewardship of the club which has left the Blues hovering above the relegation zone and searching for yet another new manager.
Though not organised by the 27 Years Campaign, the group lent their support to the protest and planned to be in attendance. It follows similar protests in stands after last Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa and a display of banners outside the Royal Liver Building, Everton's headquarters, last night.

Jonjoe Kenny was the only player who came over to the fans who stayed in the ground after Saturday's game and had a word with the fans and said he was sorry that he and the other players couldn't give them the win we all wanted. All of the other players had a look at the fans but ignored their shouts to come over and have a word with them.
I wish was young enough to join those fans at the ground tonight, they realise the club is dying on its feet and want desperately, as most of us do, for someone inside the club to get us up off the floor and back on our feet before the count of ten, that's is where we are now.

The Richard Keys piece which was linked on here shows that even those in the media and associated with the club are either not aware, or are purporting to be unaware, of the chairman's failings.
18 Posted 26/01/2022 at 21:22:14
And the prospective manager is selling himself on Sky. What could g wrong ?
19 Posted 26/01/2022 at 21:22:46
I don't approve of the graffiti though. It allows the media to label our fantastic supporters as yobs. Same goes for the idiot who threw a bottle at the weekend. We're better than that.

The board has a lot to answer for, but I'm sure Moshiri means well but hasn't been advised properly, plus I do think he has had some bad luck with his appointments and not working out quite right.
I hope he picks a British manager who knows about our club and the poor situation we are in now. COYB.

No doubt we'll get the usual "It's a minority etc etc etc" but guys and girls who get off their arses and express their disgust at how our club is being run should be applauded.
There may be few in number at the event but they are expressing the feelings of many. I wish I was there

Just catching up and the Red Echo is starting that the odds on favourite for the post had a bad interview on Sky Sports News today.
It will be interesting these last few days before the transfer window shuts.
The Farce continues; sadly the board are seemingly hell bent on ruining the club by default.

You've played many blinders Bill, but hopefully those "plenty of good times" is going to be death of your long time, failed association with Everton, although it's probably to late to rejoice, because of the long term damage that you have done over many years, because you refused to ever let go.
Moshiri, do the right thing, bring proper ruthless professional people into our club, and then fuck off, and leave them to get on with their jobs.
30 Posted 26/01/2022 at 22:13:43
Ignore the fans at your peril!
Just one thing everybody out there: Keep Safe!
31 Posted 26/01/2022 at 22:25:45
Important not to take the foot off the gas should we get few wins in the bounce. Enough is enough and it's time for change.

Currently we have every dumb ass telling us to calm down and be patient. Carragher, another prick from Anfield giving his tuppence worth. Fuck off.
We've had enough of the red influence. We have Jim fucking white and others telling us we are getting every reject manager real soon. Fuck off.
We have Ferguson stealing a living and showing what he really is... a coward. Fuck off.
We have billy bullshit. Enough. Enough. Enough.
We have The Mirror calling it a fan base war. Shame on that rag. Protests have been peaceful and at a time of heightened tensions in Eastern Europe shame on that rag for putting a slur on our fantastic fans. I bet Kenwright gave them their headline.
Hopefully we can get rid of the salary stealers and rid our club of all the substandard players and incompetent board members before we are relegated. Make no mistake folks we are heading to the championship.
The only ones to show liathroidi are the loyal fans. Let's rid ourselves of these Red infiltrators.
34 Posted 26/01/2022 at 23:15:29
The frustration level is unbelievable. We have the Chuckle Brothers running the club into the ground.

These protests are to be praised and long overdue.
Taxi for Kenwright.

Really good to see the huge effort from our fans..This could really have snowballed in a huge way if we had a midweek or game on Saturday. Glad it's peaceful.
Need to get everyone on our side. Including the scummy press. This could get bigger than Ben Hur before Moshiri and clowns heed our warning

The club is being run in such a shabby and shambolic way, that I'm now starting to genuinely think that, if this is the only way that the owners feel they can get rid of Bill Kenwright?
Even if this was true (big fucking 'if'), we are absolutely fucked, because not many people have got any confidence in Farhad Moshiri either, right now.
41 Posted 27/01/2022 at 09:09:41
Billionaires.
Be careful what you wish for.
42 Posted 27/01/2022 at 09:38:13
Newcastle supporters protested for years about Ashley and did so at every game but he only left when he was offered the money he wanted. The days when clubs relied on the money they get off supporters through gate receipts are long gone, now it's sponsors and Sky money which produces at least 75% or more of our income.
For years the fans yearned for someone with the wealth of Usmanov to take control but as we have witnessed that injection of wealth has propelled us backwards not forwards.
I know the rules on fit and proper people to run a football clubs are a joke – on what grounds would the Saudi Crown prince ever pass a fit and proper test after having the blood of Jamal Koshoggi on his hands. Likewise Abramovich who has had his passport revoked.
I would also doubt our famous duo would pass a stern test of how they acquired their wealth. I think we need to really push our owner into selling up asap as he is certainly not fit to run our football club.
Despite the protests, I fully expect Pereira to be appointed as our next manager, I mean, this is a man who appointed Benitez and Allardyce.
43 Posted 27/01/2022 at 11:48:01
Moshiri is by far our biggest problem and there is one course and one course of action only that should be taken and that's for Moshiri to bring in a top DOF and completely get out of the way himself. Obviously the same for Kenwright.
What Kenwright does will become irrelevant after this. If Moshiri doesn't do this, what's the point in EFC? – just another Middlesbrough FC in a new stadium in the whatever lower league.
Moshiri is the target!

45 Posted 27/01/2022 at 19:50:18
Of course we all know how poorly business has been managed with dreadful players brought in. A financial disaster!!! Along with dreadful managerial decisions. We are all gutted and fearful of our position
But to see an elderly sick man, which is what Kenwright is now, who loves this club to his bones be treated like this is not something I would want to be a part of. Those fans do not represent me.
And wanting Moshiri to go – for who to replace him??? He has poured millions into this club enabling a state of the art stadium. Yes, terrible decisions made but let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
I could agree with protests about better management, better consultation. But wanting the board to go with nothing to replace them!!!! Heaven forbid a business consortium with no interest in football. That's the day the heart goes out of this club.
At least with Bill, we have someone who cares. I feel ashamed.

I expect the 'field' to be reduced to one by attaching a salary which will appeal only to Periera enabling them to paint Lampard as a greedy bastard.
I don't think either Rooney or Big Dunc were ever in the frame but they are both probably waiting for a re-advertisement of the vacancy next summer!
49 Posted 27/01/2022 at 20:03:22
For me, Moshiri is much more culpable for the mess were in and the disappointment over the last few years. Hes been the majority shareholder for the last six years so the buck stops with him. He has the power to make sure the right decisions are made and hes failed again and again.
Under Bill we had regular top 7 finishes, occasional European qualification, even a Champion League qualification. Good enough? No. But a bloody miracle considering our financial resources. Somehow Moshiri came in with his money and weve gone backwards.
How does Kenwright attract such criticism and bile while Moshiri does not? I dont understand it. Like it or not, Bill is a blue and wants success just like the rest of us while Moshiri is, one way or another, in this for one reason alone: to eventually make money.
50 Posted 27/01/2022 at 20:11:48
Elderly and sick, my arse. The last time we were in serious trouble, he got “ill”. He stated in no uncertain terms he'd be out by 70, that his doctor wouldn't let him continue. But he's still here. The lying old toad.
He's been a millstone around EFC's neck for 20 years and people think it's awful. Get a grip.
51 Posted 27/01/2022 at 20:14:10
All of what you have in your post may well be true, however, the former Coronation Street actor has done pretty well from being the figure-head of the club, both in terms of International presitge, which is useful when you're trying to raise money to produce musicals etc and he's done pretty well on the financial side too.
52 Posted 27/01/2022 at 20:15:18
Bill Kenwright has made himself £40 million out of running Everton into the ground and selling all our assets. I am a similar age and if I had done what he has done while professing to love the club, I would expect to be run out of town.
If he loves the club so much, why hasn't he put some of his £40M back into the club instead of fleecing Moshiri???
53 Posted 27/01/2022 at 20:15:23
God forbid we just simply see things different. No, we must of course be weak-minded individuals incapable of independent thought. Part of the cult. One of the sheep.
Get a grip.
54 Posted 27/01/2022 at 20:17:57
My stance with Bill has been similar to what I was like with Moyes. I kind of understood it at the time in that no-one else was touching us and we had to do what was necessary. I defended it for quite a while in total honesty.
But over time it became apparent that we had gone as far as the regime had taken us. Both on and off the pitch. It had served it's purpose.
I think Bill's time was done once he finally got the investor we'd been promised and Moshiri came in. Okay, maybe a transition period. We have an owner that wants to rule from afar but can't help dabbling and I suspect that is in part because deep down he doesn't trust the board. So it should have been replaced and he should have put his own stamp on the board.
He's getting everything right, seemingly on the Stadium front. Put the right people in place to get it right on the football front. Otherwise, it's more of the same. It hasn't changed.
Good post Julie.
55 Posted 27/01/2022 at 20:25:27
Likewise, Bill was a pompous deceptive owner who happily fired managers causing grief for them and their families. He refused to cede control and has hung around long enough that he can play the "poor old man" card.
The other thing that's funny is that before Moshiri took over fans were on his case and suddenly we had the "Bill is deathly ill" routine and yet, years later, he has seemed right as rain again until now. Suddenly, when people criticize him, he is a sick old man.
With that being said, I am opposed to bottle-throwing, violence, graffiti, abusive language etc but people chanting "If you love your club, let it go" is about the politest way possible to try and get someone who is inept to leave.
56 Posted 27/01/2022 at 21:02:42
Firstly, I agree with you Moshiri is not going anywhere so we all might as well get over it. Unless of course he can find someone with north of £1bn to buy him out.
He is culpable in no small measure for the position we find ourselves in. His dereliction in abandoning the club and his investment to the hands of a totally inadequate board of directors, borders on criminal.
The heart went out the club the day Bill Kenwright mortgaged the Old Lady to the hilt, took out expensive BVI loans secured against future TV rights and season ticket sales, sold Bellfield and rented Finch Farm and got into bed with Phillip Green.
He then lost the 'ring fenced' £30m for Kings Dock and tried to take us to Kirkby.
His 24/7 search for investment ignored at least 3 plausible options, notably selling the club and the city down the road by refusing to sell to the Sheik, who eventually ended up at Eastlands. Why? Because he wanted to stay on and the Sheik required a clean slate.
Bill's health is completely immaterial. As someone on this thread has already pointed out he said, not that long ago, that he would be gone by the time he was 70 as his doctor would not allow him to continue longer.
So sorry Julie, excellent post, but almost entirely wrong.
Shame on those who suggested brainwashing, the joy of this site is debate not hurling insults.
57 Posted 27/01/2022 at 21:16:44
And by the way, you're part of the problem. Not sure whether I pity you or am angry at your sheer ignorance.
58 Posted 27/01/2022 at 23:39:39
I am saying let's be proportionate in this. In my opinion, his love of the club earns some respect. And irrelevant or not, he has had serious health issues, - I am a volunteer for Everton in the Community, and that much I know for a fact. You nay not feel that's important but its not a lie
I'm not even sure, given he is not the majority shareholder, he has that much power anymore. So I think he has a point when he says, what good would it do if he stepped down.
In my personal opinion, I do not like seeing someone who at the end of the day loves this club, be abused by the fan base.
He is not a young man, he is not in the best of health, he is a massive Blue and I expect he is gutted to have the fans turn on him. Millionaire or not, ( money isn't everything) I feel for him.

60 Posted 28/01/2022 at 10:56:44
Are you not aware that many fans suspect Bill rejected all offers for the club until he got one that specifically allowed him to stay on in a high profile and influential role?
He really messed up at the weekend. His intimation that fans should really be satisfied by the few meagre high points during his extensive time on the board does not suggest he has set the highest of standards for himself. It seems he thinks he has done as well as anyone could, and that is what is at the centre of the argument.

Some plan... No trophies but some "good times".
FA Cup Winners From 2000 Not in the Big 4 / 6.
Leicester, Wigan (for fuck's sake!) and Portsmouth!!! Everton have not won it.
League Cup Winners from 2000, not in the big 4 / 6:
Leicester, Birmingham!! Blackburn, Middlesbrough!! Swansea!! Everton have not won it.
EPL winner since 2000 not in Big 4 / 6.
Leicester (yes Leicester with another trophy). Guess what we have never won it since 2000 and have never looked like winning it either.
In 21 years, we have beaten the RS once at Mordor.
Some plan!! A lot of these teams won their trophy before Moshiri arrived. Yes, I know Moshiri is a meddler and must go to.
The fact that a team like Leicester City have won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the League Cup whilst we have had some good times says it all for me..
