Season › 2024-25 › General Forum Suggestions Please By Phil Roberts 27/09/2024 8 Comments [Jump to last] The old Class 57 Merseyrail trains are no longer, replaced by the shiny new Class 777s. But some railway fans decided to buy one rather than see them all go for scrap. Being the sentimental fool that I am, I made a donation. But mine was enough to have a message/dedication embroidered into one of the seats. I can also - if I am quick enough - choose the number of the seat for this dedication. 1. What number seat? Highest number is 74. What are the suggestions '63? '66? '69? '33? '28? Other? 2. Any suggestions for my dedication? You Lost the League at Goodison Park? Nil Satis Nisi Optimum? Ball, Kendall, Harvey - The Holy Trinity? Once Everton has touched you nothing will be the same - Alan Ball? John Hughes 2 Posted 27/09/2024 at 17:13:55 Just a suggestion, Dennis:- 60 William Ralph Dean. All the best with it whatever you decide. 👍 Kev Gillespie 3 Posted 27/09/2024 at 21:19:27 Someone sitting here mate. Peter Mills 4 Posted 27/09/2024 at 21:35:22 I like John's #2, and would probably add 1928 at the end. Dennis Stevens 5 Posted 27/09/2024 at 21:42:50 It's Phil seeking the suggestions, John #2. John Hughes 6 Posted 27/09/2024 at 23:48:51 Apologies to both Phil and Dennis, not paying sufficient attention – it's an age thing. 🙄 Dennis Stevens 7 Posted 30/09/2024 at 07:29:52 No worries, John. I doubt my flippant response was what Phil was looking for. However, your suggestion would be a good one. Especially if Phil could nab seat no, 60 & then perhaps have William Ralph Dean 1928 embroidered onto it. Phil Roberts 8 Posted 30/09/2024 at 18:46:23 Thanks for the suggestion. I like it.Have asked for Seat 60 and William Ralph Dean 1928 stitched into the seat fabric. The set of the EMU will be housed at The Tanat Valley Light Railway at Nant Mawr Visitor Centre which is not exactly easy to get to. But hey, any Blue going for a day out in deepest Wales will just have a smile on his face.
