Disclaimer () Bill Gall 1 Posted 23/11/2024 at 13:31:15 Watching the Leicester v Chelsea game and beginning to wonder if you have to actually break an ankle or leg before you get a red card. Some of the tackles from Leicester players appear no where near the ball. Neil Tyrrell 2 Posted 23/11/2024 at 13:38:22 Agreed Bill, Leicester could (should?) be down to 9 men already Jim Bennings 3 Posted 23/11/2024 at 17:49:41 Man City doing their utmost to piss away the title again I see.Might as well just crown the Dutch baldie's Shite with the crown now. Fred Quick 4 Posted 23/11/2024 at 17:59:57 Jim, the way things are going, the other lot might win it at the same place they lost it last season. Jim Bennings 5 Posted 23/11/2024 at 18:52:00 Fred.Just be another typical day in the Evertonian world, that, wouldn't it? Paul Ferry 6 Posted 23/11/2024 at 19:06:42 So down after the game. I went back to sleep deflated. Not long up and feck off, Pep & Man City. It's a poor team that depends on one player! In better news, a really nice day for my FPL team after wildcarding and with at least 3x3 bonus points to come and three players left to play, including my captain. Rob Halligan 7 Posted 24/11/2024 at 17:10:40 Fire alarm at Stockley Park, where the VAR is located. Play continues at Ipswich. Fred Quick 8 Posted 24/11/2024 at 17:14:41 Alarm bells should be ringing at Goodison, Ipswich just equalised. Shaun Parker 9 Posted 24/11/2024 at 17:17:55 Anybody else get excited to hear a Premier League manager has been sacked? Hopes were high? Its just another Sunday. In a tired old street. Denis Richardson 10 Posted 24/11/2024 at 17:21:46 Wow, surprised Leicester have pulled the trigger this early. Southampton and Ipswich favourites to go down so seems a bit panicky. Please please take Moyes so the Everton return rumours can be put to bed! Nigel Scowen 11 Posted 24/11/2024 at 17:24:04 They were knocking on the door too Fred Paul Ferry 12 Posted 24/11/2024 at 18:41:54 Delap, a classic strong bullish 21-year-old centre-forward, cost Ipswich an initial £15M and scores and plays every game and we desperately need a Number 9. We bought Jake O'Brien for the same amount and he never plays and arguably we didn't need another centre-back. Ipswich have already doubled their money. O'Brien would at the moment sell for less than we splashed out on him.Great stuff, Thelwell and Dyche. Jim Bennings 13 Posted 25/11/2024 at 12:05:16 Paul I agree. The loyalty we've shown to Calvert-Lewin has started to do my head in.There is a wide world of better Number 9s out there and that has been the case in the last 4 years or more, but our heads have been in the sand. Bill Gall 14 Posted 25/11/2024 at 20:13:59 And West Ham show what you can do if you vary the way you take corners. Paul Ferry 15 Posted 25/11/2024 at 20:19:39 Agree, Jim – we let the Coventry and Blackburn lads slip through our fingers but, as poor as all of this was, do we actually have Excel spreadsheets listing young South American talent and cheapish options everywhere that matches our budget?Personally, splashing the same cash on O'Brien that would have brought Delap to us simply does my head in. Paul Ferry 16 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:16:06 Skunks 2 down. I wonder if Eddie would come to us if we wanted him. But we don't really want Skunk rejects, do we? Brian Williams 17 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:16:59 Why would he want to come Paul? Paul Ferry 18 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:24:41 Agree Brian. I'm not sure that dock, bigger salary than he is on now, and his Everton history would be enough. The challenge is that daunting and this supposed new owner seems to like sacking managers, even more than Moshiri. He would most likely go to West Ham than us. Fred Quick 19 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:27:06 He might if he gets the boot from Newcastle, Brian, but I forgot Everton is held in such low esteem by its own supporters that nobody wants to move to a club that's somewhere between Ebbsfleet and Solihull in its current status.Seriously though if Howe did leave Newcastle which major clubs in England would likely consider hiring him? Paul Ferry 20 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:34:00 Not top 6 Fred. It would be in the Fulham, Brentford, Hammers mould, though he will be thinking higher. That said, I wouldn't rule out him coming to us. It's a daunting task but in essence, he would have little to lose, a bigger bank balance, and some nice days out on the river. Brian Williams 21 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:34:55 Not held in such low esteem by only us Fred. Our league positions over the last several seasons speak for themselves. Paul Ferry 22 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:39:47 One problem, Brian, is that the longer we go on without winning anything or being genuine competitors, the more distant our history seems now. Edward Rogers 23 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:40:41 Attendance at Newcastle (according to BBC) only 22,000?Here's me thinking they're a massive club! Soren Moyer 24 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:46:44 Seems like Ing's hair is finally restored fully lol. Paul Ferry 25 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:47:42 52,000 Edward. Edward Rogers 26 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:48:41 Obviously a typo from the Beeb. Soren Moyer 27 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:51:14 I can't see West Ham sacking their manager! He'll come good in long run. Paul Ferry 28 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:54:30 Actually, 52,094! Paul Ferry 29 Posted 25/11/2024 at 21:58:12 Newcastle were shite second half. No response at all after going two down, except from Howe to bring on subs. Isak was shockingly absent. David Cooper 30 Posted 25/11/2024 at 22:09:04 Everton U21s boasting Broja, Patterson and O'Brien lost 1-0 to Watford who lost their previous U21 game 8-2! Perhaps that's why we haven't seen much of Patterson and O'Brien! Would have been too much to ask that Broja could lift our spirits with a goal! Paul Ferry 31 Posted 25/11/2024 at 22:13:39 Thanks David! Paul Ferry 32 Posted 27/11/2024 at 21:08:58 Second dive by Red Shite. Paul Ferry 33 Posted 27/11/2024 at 21:29:20 LOL, dickhead Salah. Martin Mason 34 Posted 27/11/2024 at 21:34:02 Just watching Liverpool vs Real Madrid. If that game they are playing is football, then you may as well call the game we play Rugby. We're a division or more below Liverpool, a massive gulf in class and the concept that we can get near to that in the next few years seems laughable. I guess that miracles can happen but we need more than that. Mike Gaynes 35 Posted 27/11/2024 at 21:42:15 I read somewhere that the RS have spent more than £800M on players since Fenway took over. Thus the gulf in class.Let's see where we are after a decade of Friedkin. Paul Hewitt 36 Posted 27/11/2024 at 21:43:22 So much for the RS falling apart once Klopp left. This Slott fella has them playing better. Mike Gaynes 37 Posted 27/11/2024 at 21:44:49 He Slotted in nicely. Tony Abrahams 38 Posted 27/11/2024 at 21:54:00 I had a feeling Slott would start very well, Paul, because he has been left a very good squad of players who are superfit, because they have been getting hammered by Klopp's very tough training regime and cheating with inhalers for years. I imagine it must be a pleasure working for the new manager if he doesn't train them so hard, especially with their bodies being used to getting pushed so much. It's very early days, though, and like Sergio Ramos supposedly said to Rafa Benitez, "Don't worry about results in October, worry about them in April and May." Mike Gaynes 39 Posted 27/11/2024 at 22:00:34 Yank madness for PSV. 3 goals in the last 8 minutes (sound familiar???), the final two by Malik Tillman and Ricardo Pepi of the USA. Win 3-2 over Shaktar. And a goal for Gio Reyna in Dortmund's win. Martin Mason 40 Posted 27/11/2024 at 22:03:33 Mike, Look at the players that have come through their development system though and how about their net spend too? They looked very good tonight. It was a bit depressing really. Tony Abrahams 41 Posted 27/11/2024 at 22:11:03 What about the goal the American scored against his home team at Parkhead tonight Mike. Danny O'Neill 42 Posted 27/11/2024 at 22:28:36 I had an eye on their match as well as Villa's.They deserved it. Carlo's Real a shadow of their recent selves. They messed around with it at the back too much and gave away possession too much to the Duracell bunnies.Villa's match was a stalemate. Kevin Molloy 43 Posted 27/11/2024 at 22:32:53 Good to see Liverpool replacing Klop without missing a beat. You have to hand it to both clubs, we've both been remarkably consistent now for about a decade. Mike Gaynes 44 Posted 27/11/2024 at 23:05:07 Tony, didn't hear about that one, but I don't even have to guess who the guilty party was... Carter-Vickers, right?Guy is a blunder machine. Awful. Has maybe a dozen caps and he'll never get one again, not with Poch in charge. Bill Gall 45 Posted 28/11/2024 at 02:02:59 Amazing one team changes managers often and gradually get worse, other teams changes managers and get better. I'm starting to feel really sorry for our Merseyside and area supporters for the abuse they must get. And really, is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Paul Ferry 46 Posted 28/11/2024 at 06:55:54 Mike 44. Celtic are my second team. I watch nearly every game in full. Carter-Vickers has arguably been Celtic's best defender this season and today, Chris Sutton, who is at every Celtic game, said he was the best player of the season so far.I don't care how many caps he has won but on his form this season your comment about him never making it 13 seems silly. How many Celtic games have you watched this season MG? But you call him'awful'.'. with Poch in charge'. As if he is a messiah who will sort Yank footy out. He may have continent hopped because he is a perennial non-winner on the other side of the ocean, who did however scrape a couple of trophies at the biggest club in the worst big league in Europe!Poch, who has been a decent club gaffer so far will be watching Carter-Vickers. It's not as if the Yanks have a great defence. Colin Glassar 47 Posted 28/11/2024 at 07:12:43 Madrid and the shite, you have to admit it, play football from a different universe to us. As much as I dislike our neighbours, their Football is at a different level. We are now definitely in their shadow and it will take enormous effort, and time, for us to move out of it. Paul Ferry 48 Posted 28/11/2024 at 07:18:13 It was a hilarious og though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIS81KnUwaA Paul Ferry 49 Posted 28/11/2024 at 07:19:14 I hate you for being right CG but my skies are always blue Paul Ferry 50 Posted 28/11/2024 at 07:22:12 Can we please do our best to buy Daizen from Celtic. Please. He's still within our range, I think. Tony Abrahams 51 Posted 28/11/2024 at 09:19:55 If there is one club, that its worth taking players off, then the success rate of players moving on from Glasgow Celtic, and then producing better things, must be as high as most clubs? Fred Quick 52 Posted 28/11/2024 at 11:49:49 It seems our reputation isn't confined to the UK, as Real Madrid fans poured scorn on last night's performance and Carlo Ancelotti.“Someone remind Ancelotti that he is not at Everton, that he is coaching Real Madrid, that if he wants to play like a small team, he should go back to Everton.” @TsubasaMisaki11 was ruthless.@Moru84_cb commented: “Ancelotti should be sacked today. We seem like a small team. Everyone is at the back. He has returned to Liverpool and believed that it was the derby and that he was still at Everton.”Unhappy Madrid fans Danny O'Neill 53 Posted 28/11/2024 at 12:04:40 Arda Guler for Real Madrid caught my eye last night. He's only 19 too.The night before, when I watched Sporting Lisbon get a pasting from Arsenal, I couldn't help notice how many chances they got, but blew most of them high and wide.
