I'm ambivalent, but I can see Forest losing out on the Champions League slot when only weeks ago they looked nailed on.

Not just the goal. Kevin De Bruyne still pulling the strings.
If we could, I would. Top drawer player.

Nice corner by Bournemouth – far enough out to not be caught by the keeper, and a great header on to the far post.
Fantastic tussle at the far post, with the ball going in off Evanilson's body after being initially parried by the keeper.
Mikel Arteta will not be happy. His Gunners are now losing from a winning position.

It's going to be an interesting season for Arsenal and Arteta next season. Not many may agree, but I think he could be under pressure.
Not everyones obvious for the chop, but if they have another season of being nearly men, it's a possibility.
I think ours will be under scrutiny if it doesn't start well. I'd be surprised if Tottenham's is there next season and Man Utd's too.
Then again, Tottenham or Man Utd could have won a European trophy and be in the Champions League next season.
Anyone's guess.
On a separate note, my Chelsea cousin offered 2 tickets for Chelsea v Liverpool tomorrow. I told him it's best I don't go as I would be ejected before any Chelsea supporter near me.
I've given them to friends who support Chelsea, but told them to turn their back or stay downstairs when Chelsea have to do that Premier League enforced guard of honour.

Is Joe Royle managing Everton Ladies? Another win over them. Add to the U18s and that is 2-0 to us this weekend.
Just wish the men's 1st XI could do as well.
Merseyside Constabulary have been called to investigate a theft of 3 points in the Everton District this afternoon. (27 shots v 6) but 0 goals v 2.
Oh and given their inability to hit a barn door with a blaster, are Stormtroopers cloned from Darwin Nunez? Happy Star Wars Day. May the fourth be with you.

Ladies: Liverpool 0 Everton 2.
Liverpool battered Everton but we got the goals and that was that.
Everton's goalie was terrific, great saves and coming off her line to catch and punch the ball away—one save from a 20 odd yards, a terrific shot she was quick and agile enough to tip onto the bar and out for a corner.
Everton were very poor, particularly playing the ball out of defence, which they did throughout the game. Awful to watch, nearly as bad as the first team yesterday… maybe they've got the same coach.
That's four times we've beaten Liverpool in the last two seasons without conceding a goal and Moyes has never beat Liverpool away throughout his career in 20-odd games!

And we are still above Spurs and Man Utd.
Was that foul in the box? No luck for Eddie.

I made my second trip to Stamford Bridge in a a week. I made sure the son's girlfriend got in okay and headed home.
Now, I don't like this half and half scalf thing. It doesn't make sense to me.
I found it odd at the derby when Liverpool supporters were holding half Liverpool half Everton ones aloft.
But today a large percentage of supporters had half Chelsea half Liverpool scarves. Even taking photos holding them up in front of the Peter Osgood statue. I don't remember him but to have a statue, presume he was good. I don't think he would have approved though.

Osgood was good Danny, Chelsea back then where the Kings of the Kings Road, Hudson, Cooke, Hutchinson, Houseman and a bit of steel with Chopper Harris, Webb and John Dempsey, decent keeper in Bonetti too.
More of a cup team though, they lacked the stamina to go a full league season and win it,
they didnt travel well.

The Chelsea - Leeds cup final was the stuff of legends. Everyone hated Leeds so we all supported Chelsea. Leeds had brilliant players but preferred to kick and elbow opponents. When they felt like it, they were unbeatable.

Osgood was good. Agree with Paul, if we added Palace's pace, physicality and attacking attitude to go with our back four, we'd be a lot more fun to watch. And we'd be closer to winning things.

All I can find is "feinting in the run-up is permitted", so what I heard may be wrong.
Posted
05/05/2025 at
21:29:22
Yes I thought the stuttering run up and general poncing about taking a pen(see what I did there) was a rule breaker, once again refs havent got the bottle to apply the rules, especially this gobshite Madley.
Posted
05/05/2025 at
21:32:47
Then again, there's this 'interpretation':
Coming to a full stop and “Feinting” in the run up on a penalty kick is permitted and perfectly legal under IFAB law. Exceptions to this are for NFHS (High School) where the kicker must maintain a continuous forward motion during their run up.
Is it any wonder I'm confused?

The rules on stepping up to take a penalty have changed so much I don't think anybody even bothers any more.
It used to be an uninterrupted forward movement.

I saw what you did there Jeff!
Sounds like the Refs need to have a chat about this:
the kicker must maintain a continuous forward motion during their run up.
That seems pretty clear to me Eze lad and Mr. Madley.

Those stuttering run ups are irritating and it's always borderline as to whether they stop or not.
The point keeps Forest in the mix.
Posted
05/05/2025 at
21:41:41
Its a form of simulation, the keeper is not allowed to move off the line but the kicker can do a fucking riverdance before taking the pen, its bollocks and refs should be clamping down on it.

Bright Eyes: Art?
Annies Song: Denver?
Float On: Floaters?
