Everton will face an uphill battle in the fourth round of the FA Cup as they have lost seven of their last nine meetings against Bournemouth.
However, home advantage could work in favour of the Toffees whose six wins against the Cherries have all come at Goodison Park.
Bournemouth have also beaten twice in the Premier League this season. They secured a sensational 3-2 comeback at Goodison Park in August with the visitors scoring three goals in quick succession after the 87th minute to stun the hosts. The two sides’ most recent encounter ended in a 1-0 win for Andoni Iraola’s on home soil.
While the Cherries may have the upper hand over Everton in recent matches across all competitions, in the FA Cup, they have never been able to get past the Toffees. Bournemouth were eliminated by Everton in their previous ties against each (in round three in 1937 and in round five in 2016).
Goodison Park has also been a strong hunting ground for Everton in the FA Cup. They have won eight of their last 10 matches in this competition on home soil. However, one of those defeats was against Luton Town in the fourth round last season.
Form Guide:
Everton: W-L-W-W-W
Bournemouth: W-D-W-W-L
Recent Form:
• Everton: Under the renewed leadership of David Moyes, Everton has secured three consecutive Premier League victories, including a commanding 4-0 win over Leicester City. This resurgence has lifted them nine points clear of the relegation zone.
• Bournemouth: Prior to a recent 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, Bournemouth enjoyed a 12-match unbeaten streak across all competitions. They currently sit seventh in the Premier League, just three points shy of the top four, reflecting a strong season under manager Andoni Iraola.
Head-to-Head Statistics:
• In their last nine encounters across all competitions, Bournemouth has emerged victorious seven times, while Everton has won twice. Notably, each of Everton’s last six wins over Bournemouth has occurred at Goodison Park.
Key Players:
• Everton: Forward Iliman Ndiaye has been in impressive form, scoring four goals in his last five appearances, including in each of his last three matches.
• Bournemouth: Despite recent injuries, players like Dango Ouattara have stepped up, contributing significantly to the team’s attacking prowess.
Tactical Insights:
Moyes has implemented tactical adjustments, such as revitalizing Jesper Lindstrøm and repositioning Jake O’Brien and Vitalii Mykolenko, which have positively impacted the team’s performance.
“It’s not me personally who has made the change,” Moses said. “I think the players have changed how they perceive themselves. There are a lot of talented players here and they’ve shown it. The last thing we need here is pressure. They don’t need it because they’ve been living under so much pressure from different things: the form, even their own supporters saying: ‘No, we’re not liking this.’
Injury Concerns:
• Everton: Key players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja, Dwight McNeil, and Orel Mangala are sidelined due to injuries.
• Bournemouth: The team is dealing with injuries to right-backs Adam Smith, Julian Araujo, and James Hill, as well as defender Marcos Senesi and forwards Evanilson and Enes Unal.

Hope we get a win and no injuries ahead of the RS. Would love a favourable home tie in the next round.

It reads like something from Goodison news.
'Everton will face an uphill battle in the fourth round of the FA Cup as they have lost seven of their last nine meetings against Bournemouth'.
Inspiring stuff.

And I agree with you re this new content. Not a good start in my opinion. I wonder how many times the authors have visited (..."the" haha) Goodison Park.

Apologies to the new editorial team, I should be less reactionary and more supportive of your efforts to start a new venture. I hope things go well.

Mike (18), we did meet once at West Ham (a) in 2000 — a cracking 4-0 win and a hat-trick from the soon-to-be persona non grata, Mr Barmby — and a year later decided to combine our two sites.
I've submitted a General Forum article that hopefully the new landlords will be kind enough to publish but I repeat the message here below as well. I apologise to you all for the confusion the change has caused. This was always going to be the hard part...

Dear ToffeeWeb community,
After 24 years running this website together under the ToffeeWeb.com banner, Michael and I will be stepping away. TW will continue to be the news resource and community like it always has been, just with a different voice.
If you were a visitor or member of ToffeeWeb — no matter for how long or how frequently — I sincerely thank you. So many of you have been like family and your support means the world. I'm so proud of the platform we built here, the community that grew up around it and nothing has given me greater pleasure than to provide something that so many have found so useful.
Of course, this being the Internet, I've not really gone anywhere. You can still find me on the socials at Twitter/X at @EFCLyndon or Bluesky at @efclyndon.bsky.social
And, of course, Up The Toffees!

A first half of fannying and piss farting about to no purpose and when we did look to get further forward there was no width or intent with the one exception for Ndiaye.
Tarkowski's tackle was stupid and he should just have shepherded the Bournemouth man so as to limit his shooting options and then the second was just a mess.
It seems we've gone from kick it down their end and see if we can get it back under Dyche to pass it around for no good reason. So that's the Cup out of the way.
57 Posted 08/02/2025 at 15:57:30
Tarks is not a play out from the back CB.
Myko missing affects our balance with obrien at RB, the width we've had recently has gone.
Big second half needed now. A change of tactics needed.
3 at the back ?
I'd put Harrison on for young, play him LWB.
Lindstrom RWB.
Alacaraz for dacoure.
Go and have a go, we are out as it stands, who cares if it's 4-0 or 2-0.

Ultimately though, out of the cup, season over.

I dont know much about Musk drones, but do believe that one day soon the robot is going to take over the world, and its going to become a very, very boring fucking place.
When things are bad the only thing left is humour, but not today because its now official that Everton havent won a trophy in thirty fuckin years.
95 Posted 08/02/2025 at 18:31:39
You cannot win football matches when you captain and center back gives away goals as cheaply as he has this season.

Shame about the seeming ‘midnight flit (although the lack of proper updates after Monday was alarming). Hope it wasnt motivated / accelerated by jumped-up posters telling them their opinions werent welcome.
No disrespect to the new guys but there is currently a huge difference to the flow of information on the site and I cant see many sticking with it unless something much closer to normal service is restored pdq.
Its disappointing we are out of the cup but our priority is still league survival anyway. Thats going to take decent performances and player resilience. Loads still to play for, starting Wednesday night. UTFT!

Hes fine blocking shots, and if he wins the ball hoofing it down the field, but when they start playing the ball to each other, he is found out.
We need OBrien at center back alongside Brathwaite with Patterson and Miko as the fullbacks

102 Posted 09/02/2025 at 08:36:08
Moyes is now finding out, if he never knew, how poor and threadbare this squad is and we will continue to lose to against the better teams which Bournemouth were yesterday, the second half was a big improvement but there were still huge gaps in the defence and midfield when Bournemouth decided to attack, thankfully Alcaraz can make a difference to the team with his addition to the squad, those three wins and nine precious points stopped us from making more additions to the squad but the fight to stay up is still there until we get those extra points.
